In a recent interview, she revealed she had never been taught about menstruation. Seeing blood for the first time left her terrified, and she believed something was seriously wrong.

Sadly, her story isn’t unique. Too many girls experience their first period with fear instead of understanding because menstrual health is still treated as a taboo.

Period education should begin before the first period not after.
