Sharing a recently done rare case/approach.
While microdiscectomy is a routine procedure and is usually done via interlaminar approach. However, far lateral approach is required very rarely, because the incidence of symptomatic foraminal/extraforaminal disc herniation is low. Here, I am sharing a video of recently done MISS far-lateral / extra-foraminal microdiscectomy.
Happy to share that the extreme pain of the patient has relieved significantly, and he has returned back to his daily acitivities.
