A little parenting moment from this morning. ❤️

I lost my patience for a moment… and what my daughter actually wanted to tell me made me realise how quickly we can sometimes react without knowing what our child is trying to say.

I apologised to her right then and there.

Because parenting isn’t about getting everything right all the time. We will make mistakes. What matters is that we recognise them, apologise, repair and reconnect.

We don’t have to be perfect parents. ❤️

To you, it may look like your child is simply playing. But to a Speech Therapist, play can tell a much bigger story. 👀

During an assessment, I’m not just looking at whether your child can play. I’m observing how they explore, communicate, interact, use toys, respond to others, and express what they want.

Because play is one of the most natural ways children communicate.

Sometimes, what a child does during play tells us what we need to explore further. ❤️

Did you know therapists observe these things during play? Save this Reel and share it with a parent who might find it helpful.

Just 5 minutes… and the assessment has already begun. 👀
Many parents think a speech assessment starts when the therapist begins asking questions. In reality, it starts the moment your child walks into the room.
As a Speech Language Pathologist, I’m not just listening for words. I’m observing how your child explores, communicates, plays, responds to a new environment, and connects with the world around them.
Because it’s never about one behaviour—it’s about understanding the whole child.

Children don’t just feel happy, sad, or angry.

They also feel disappointed, embarrassed, jealous, proud, worried, excited, and overwhelmed. But if they don’t know the right words for these emotions, they may struggle to express what they’re truly feeling.

The words we teach our children today shape how they understand and communicate their emotions tomorrow.

💬 What’s one emotion word you’ve recently taught your child? Share it in the comments!

You’ll never guess what she made! 👀🎭

What looks like a simple mask carries a much bigger message.

Social media shows us the smiles, the likes, the celebrations, the “perfect” moments… but behind the screen, real life has its own ups and downs too.

A beautiful reminder for us as parents: teach children that what they see online is only a part of someone’s story. ❤️

Because behind every perfect picture, there is a real person with real feelings.

🌍 “Will too many languages confuse my child?”

This is a worry many parents have — but growing up with more than one language does not cause speech or language delay.

You don’t have to give up your mother tongue just so your child can learn one language.

Speak in the language that comes naturally to you. ❤️ What matters is giving your child plenty of meaningful conversations and a language-rich environment.

Multiple languages are not the problem. Quality interaction matters.

Save this if you’re raising a multilingual child, and share it with a parent who needs to hear this. 💛
