Highlights from the 89th PAVI Meet: Addressing Behavioral Concerns in Autism

The 89th Parents Association for the Visually Impaired (PAVI) meeting witnessed an insightful session on understanding and managing behavioral concerns in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). With an encouraging turnout of around 50 participants, including parents, caregivers, and staff members, the session provided valuable guidance and practical strategies.

🗣️ Expert Talk by Dr. Hrishikesh Giri Prasad
We were honored to host Dr. Hrishikesh Giri Prasad, Child Psychiatrist and Associate Professor at Niloufer Hospitals, Hyderabad, who delivered an enlightening session on “Behavioral Patterns in Autism Spectrum Disorder: Assessment and Management Strategies.”

We are thrilled to share the successful completion of the Annual Volunteers Meet 2025 held on January 25, 2025, at the Kallam Anji Reddy Campus of LV Prasad Eye Institute. This much-awaited event brought together 100+ passionate volunteers from across our network, joining both offline and online, to celebrate their incredible contributions and discuss the way forward.

The energy and enthusiasm in the room were truly inspiring, as our volunteers shared their experiences, ideas, and commitment to making a difference in the lives of individuals with visual impairment. Their dedication is the driving force behind the impactful work we do at the Institute for Vision Rehabilitation.

🌟 Highlights from the 88th PAVI Meeting 🌟

On December 28, 2024, the 88th Parents Association for the Visually Impaired (PAVI) meeting brought together 60 participants, including parents, caregivers, children, IT clients, and staff at the Kallam Anji Reddy Campus, L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad.

🎶 The event began with a lively talent show by Mr. Sai Vinay and the IT team, captivating the audience with music and songs.

🎤 The session focused on “From Overwhelming to Empowering: Support Strategies for Parents of Children with Vision Impairment and Special Needs.” Guest speaker Ms. Sarada Lingaraju shared valuable insights on self-care, seeking help, and healthy parenting.

🎉 A Landmark Event: The First-Ever 'Seeing CVI' Conference 🎉

On November 23rd and 24th, 2024, the LVPEI Institute for Vision Rehabilitation at the Kallam Anji Reddy Campus, Hyderabad, proudly hosted its inaugural 'Seeing CVI' conference! 🌟

This groundbreaking event brought together global experts to share invaluable knowledge, insights, and best practices about Cortical/Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI)—the leading cause of pediatric visual impairment worldwide.

The two-day conference aimed to:
✅ Raise awareness about advancements in CVI care.
✅ Develop clinical and rehabilitative skills.
✅ Enhance care through cutting-edge research and evidence-based practices.

We are thrilled to have hosted 240 participants in person and an additional 40 virtual attendees from across the globe, including the USA, Greece, Bhutan, the Philippines, Switzerland, and various parts of India. 🌍

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to make this event a resounding success! Together, we are bridging the gap between clinical science and rehabilitation to improve the lives of individuals with CVI. 💙
