I was 16 when I read my first Richard Bach book, *Illusions*.

Then came *Jonathan Livingston Seagull*, *Conversations with God*, and many more books that introduced me to a world I didn't even know existed.

The matrix. Chakras. Meditation. Consciousness. The universe. The idea that perhaps life was much more than what we could see.

That was the beginning.

I am 42 now.

In these 26 years, I have read countless books, done courses, attended meditations, conducted meditations and workshops, explored different philosophies and practices…

And yet, every once in a while, life shows me something that makes me realise—

I am still only scratching the surface.

The recent visuals of the floods in Nepal have stayed with me.

Those massive bridges. Huge buildings. Giant boulders.

Things that we look at and think are permanent.

And then, in what feels like a blink of an eye, they are simply… gone.

And then there are the bodies. Human beings. Animals. Trees. Everything that was caught in the same force of nature.

And I found myself thinking—

Why do we assume that our life is somehow more important to the universe?

When it rains, thousands of ants die.

Tiny insects disappear. Plants are uprooted. Bacteria, algae, amoebas, countless forms of life are born and die every moment.

Does the universe differentiate?

Does it say, *this soul matters more than that one?*

Perhaps not.

Perhaps consciousness is consciousness.

Whether it is expressed through a human being, an animal, an ant, a tree, a plant, or something so tiny that we cannot even see it.

We have placed ourselves at the centre of everything.

We build enormous buildings. We create wealth, identities, boundaries and empires. We convince ourselves that we are powerful. That we are permanent.

And then nature comes along and reminds us—

You are not separate.

You are not above.

You are just another expression of this existence.

A massive bridge and a tiny ant can both disappear in the same rain.

And somehow, that thought is both terrifying and deeply humbling.

Maybe spirituality isn't about finding all the answers.

Maybe after 26 years, it is simply about becoming more capable of standing in awe of the questions.

Because every time I think I have understood the universe a little…

life shows me another layer.

And I realise—

there is so much more to understand.

So much more to experience.

So much more to unlearn.
