🚨 Even though people with Down syndrome might act and look similar, each person has different abilities.

Some common physical features of Down syndrome include:

• A flattened face, especially the bridge of the nose
• Almond-shaped eyes that slant up
• A short neck
• Small ears
• A tongue that tends to stick out of the mouth
• Tiny white spots on the iris (colored part) of the eye
• Small hands and feet
• A single line across the palm of the hand (palmar crease)
• Small pinky fingers that sometimes curve toward the thumb
• Poor muscle tone or loose joints
• Shorter in height as children and adults

21/03 of every year is observed as WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY create awareness about Down syndrome.

The 21st day of March was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.

Dyscalculia is a math learning disorder that makes mathematical reasoning and computation difficult, in spite of adequate education, average or greater intelligence, and proper motivation.

Signs of Dyscalculia ✨ -

1. random number and symbol mixups when reading, thinking, copying, writing, speaking, and remembering

2.unreliable memory of numbers, math facts, rules, and procedures
exerts inordinate effort, buts gets disappointing results

3.unable to do mental figuring

4. poor money planning, and management

5. struggles with telling time, tracking and managing time, and punctuality

6. experiences directional confusion during math tasks, when navigating inside buildings and across town, and during physical sequences (dance steps, sports, playing music, playing games,combination lock, following physical directions).

Yes, you’ve heard it right, RCI has discontinued the existing training programmes- D.ed. Spl.Ed (ASD)(AUSTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER)
and D.ed. Spl. Ed (ID) (INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY) from academic session 2021-2022.
Instead,
RCI has introduced new programme - D.ed. Spl. Ed (IDD) (INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENT DISABILITIES)
Which includes (ASD, ID and LD)
