Freedom is not just about the world around us. It is also about the relationship we build with our own body. 🇮🇳💚

This Independence Day, let’s celebrate a different kind of freedom — the freedom to eat without guilt, nourish without fear, and choose health without constantly chasing perfection.

As a dietitian, I believe mindful eating is not about restricting yourself or following complicated rules. It is about understanding what your body needs, making informed choices, and creating habits that you can actually sustain.

Let’s free ourselves from:
✨ Constant food guilt
✨ Extreme diets and unnecessary restrictions
✨ The pressure to eat “perfectly”
✨ Ignoring our body’s hunger and fullness cues
✨ Lifestyle habits that leave us feeling drained and exhausted

Because true wellness is not about eating less.
It is about nourishing yourself better.

This Independence Day, give your body the freedom it deserves — freedom to feel energetic, strong, nourished and cared for. 🌿

Sip health. Sip freedom. 🇮🇳

Here’s to a healthier relationship with food, a healthier relationship with ourselves, and a life where wellness becomes a part of everyday living.

Happy Independence Day! 🇮🇳

Strength isn’t about proving someone wrong.
It’s about proving to yourself that you can show up—even on the days you don’t feel like it.

The strongest body isn’t built by punishment.
It’s built by consistency.

✨ Every workout.
✨ Every nourishing meal.
✨ Every hour of sleep.
✨ Every choice to keep going.

Your fitness journey shouldn’t come from the fear of not being enough or the need to impress someone else. It should come from self-respect.

When you start taking care of your body, you stop chasing validation.
You start chasing health, energy, confidence, and a version of yourself that feels stronger every single day.

Remember:
🏋️ Exercise is a celebration of what your body can do.
🥗 Nutrition is how you fuel that strength.
đź’› Discipline is the highest form of self-love.

Choose yourself. Every. Single. Day.

do some children become picky eaters? 🍽️

If your child suddenly refuses vegetables, eats only a few favorite foods, or says “I don’t like it” before even tasting it, you’re not alone. Picky eating is very common, but understanding the reason behind it is the first step toward improving it.

Here are some common reasons why children become picky eaters:

✨ Natural developmental phase: As children grow, their appetite and food preferences naturally change. This is often temporary.

✨ Pressure at mealtimes: Constantly forcing, bribing, or scolding a child to eat can create a negative relationship with food and make them resist even more.

✨ Repeated exposure is missing: A child may need to see and taste a new food 10–15 times before accepting it. Don’t give up after one refusal.

✨ Too many snacks: Frequent snacking or sugary drinks throughout the day reduce hunger at mealtimes.

✨ Distractions while eating: Screens, toys, or running around during meals prevent children from paying attention to their hunger and fullness cues.

✨ Texture and sensory preferences: Some children are sensitive to certain textures, smells, or colors. This doesn’t always mean they’re being stubborn.

👩‍⚕️ Shephali Arora’s Advice:

âś… Be patient and avoid forcing your child to finish their plate.
âś… Follow a fixed meal and snack schedule instead of offering food all day.
✅ Eat together as a family—children learn by watching adults.
âś… Introduce one new food alongside familiar favorites.
âś… Let children participate in grocery shopping, washing vegetables, or plating food to build curiosity.
âś… Appreciate every small step, even if they only smell, touch, or take one bite of a new food.
âś… Remember that consistency works better than pressure.

Healthy eating habits are built over time—not overnight. Focus on creating a positive mealtime environment, and your child will gradually become more confident in trying new foods. ❤️

Low carb doesn’t mean no carb. 🍚🥗

Completely removing rice, roti, and other quality carbs from your diet is not the answer—especially after pregnancy.

Your body needs carbohydrates for energy, recovery, hormone balance, tissue healing, muscle repair, and breastfeeding support. The goal isn’t to fear carbs; it’s to choose the right carbs in the right portions.

A balanced plate with protein, vegetables, and quality carbs supports sustainable weight loss, better energy, and long-term health.

✨ Nourish your body. Don’t punish it.

Healthy snacking isn’t about keeping kids full between meals. It’s about giving their growing bodies and brains the nutrients they need to learn, play, grow, and stay healthy.

Many packaged snacks may seem convenient, but they’re often loaded with added sugar, unhealthy fats, and excess salt. Over time, these choices can affect your child’s energy levels, concentration, immunity, and eating habits.

Instead of focusing on perfection, focus on better choices.

Choose snacks like:
Fresh fruits
Nuts (age-appropriate to avoid choking)
Yogurt or curd
Cheese
Homemade sandwiches
Vegetable sticks with healthy dips
Protein-rich options like boiled eggs (if consumed)

Small changes made consistently can create lifelong healthy eating habits.

Remember, children don’t just eat what you serve—they eat what they see. When parents choose healthy foods, children naturally learn to do the same.

Every healthy snack is an investment in stronger immunity, better growth, improved focus, and a healthier future.
