BMO Bhaderwah Visits PHC Chinta, Reviews Health Services & ASHA Performance

Bhaderwah, May 25, 2026:

Block Medical Officer Bhaderwah, Dr. Versha Sharma, paid a visit to PHC Chinta and attended the cluster meeting of ASHAs falling under the jurisdiction of PHC Chinta.

During the meeting, the BMO reviewed the indicator wise performance and progress of ASHAs and assessed the implementation of various health schemes at the grassroots level. Necessary instructions and directions were issued to ensure effective delivery of healthcare services and improved field-level performance.

Dr. Versha Sharma also took stock of the overall functioning of PHC Chinta and reviewed the healthcare facilities being provided to patients. Stress was laid on maintaining quality healthcare services, proper patient care, and strengthening public health activities in the area.

The staff and ASHAs were encouraged to continue their dedicated efforts towards improving health indicators and ensuring better healthcare outreach in remote areas.

Free Medical Camp & Nasha Mukti Awareness Programme Held at Village Bharoth

Doda, May 23, 2026:

Under the ongoing Nasha Mukht Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, a free medical camp cm awareness programme was organized at Village Bharoth falling under Medical Block Thathri on 22-05-2026.

The camp was conducted under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer Doda, Dr. Tanveer Ahmed Rather and under the supervision of the Block Medical Officer Thathri, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Kichloo.

During the camp, various healthcare services including general health check-ups, TB screening, NCD screening, and anemia screening were carried out. Around 95 patients were screened and benefited from the services provided. Free medicines were also distributed among the patients.

The camp was attended by Dr. Arif Qazi (MLHP), Mrs Chinta Kumari (FMPHW), and Mrs Pushpa Devi along with other healthcare staff.

On the occasion, awareness regarding the ill effects of drug abuse and the importance of a drug-free society under the Nasha Mukht JK Abhiyan was also imparted to the participants.

Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse Held at Himalayan Neeru High School Pranoo Under Nasha Mukti J&K Abhiyan

Doda, May 23, 2026:

As part of the ongoing 100 Days Campaign under the Nasha Mukti Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, an awareness programme on drug abuse prevention was organized at Himalayan Neeru High School Pranoo on 23-05-2026 in collaboration with the Health Department.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr Tanveer Ahmed Rather and under the supervision of the Block Medical Officer Ghat, Dr Abdul Gafoor.

On the occasion, Dr. Nasir Masood Indrabi, Incharge NTPHC Pranoo, served as the resource person and delivered an informative lecture highlighting the harmful effects of substance abuse, the importance of a healthy lifestyle, and the collective responsibility of society in combating the menace of drugs among youth.

Students and staff members actively participated in the programme. A pledge against drug abuse was also administered, reaffirming the commitment towards building a drug-free society.

The Principal of the school, Sh. Satish Kumar, appreciated the initiative of the Health Department and emphasized the need for continued awareness activities among students to safeguard the younger generation from the dangers of addiction.

Health Department Conducts Free MMU Medical Camp at Remote Village Dhadkai

Gandoh, May 22, 2026:

To strengthen healthcare outreach in remote areas, a free medical camp under the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) initiative was organized at Village Dhadkai in Medical Block Gandoh, District Doda, on 21-05-2026.

The camp was conducted under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer Doda, Dr. Tanveer Ahmed Rather, and under the supervision of the Block Medical Officer Gandoh, Dr. Farooq Saleem.

In the camp, a wide range of healthcare services was provided to the local population during the camp, including general medical check-ups, screening for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), health counselling, and free distribution of medicines. The initiative aimed at ensuring accessible and quality healthcare services for people residing in far-flung and underserved areas.

Around 170 patients availed the services and were screened by a dedicated team of healthcare professionals from CHC Gandoh, including the RBSK Team and MMU staff from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer Doda.

The local residents appreciated the efforts of the Health Department for reaching out to remote communities and expressed hope for the continuation of such beneficial healthcare initiatives in the future.

Educational Visit of Bhaderwah Campus Students to PHC Chinta

Bhaderwah, May 21, 2026:-

Students from the Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, today visited PHC Chinta as part of an educational exposure programme aimed at understanding the functioning of primary healthcare services at the grassroots level. The visit was conducted under the patronage and guidance of Dr. Versha Sharma, Block
Medical Officer Bhaderwah.

The primary objective of the visit was to familiarize students with the day to day functioning of healthcare institutions, implementation of various flagship health schemes, and the delivery of essential public health services. The students also gained practical exposure through interactive sessions with healthcare professionals and patients at the facility.

During the visit, Dr. Rashida Begum, Incharge PHC Chinta, along with Dr. Anil Khajuria, Medical Officer, Kanta Devi, Community Health Officer, Pawan Kumar, Technician, and other staff members, warmly received the students and provided detailed briefings regarding OPD services, routine immunization activities, maternal and child healthcare services, Ayushman Bharat initiatives, and other national health programmes being implemented at the institution.

The visiting students and faculty members appreciated the supportive environment and valuable learning experience provided by the staff of PHC Chinta. They expressed special gratitude to Dr. Versha Sharma, BMO Bhaderwah, for facilitating the visit and encouraging academic exposure in the field of public health.
They also thanked Dr. Rashida Begum and the entire staff of PHC Chinta for their cooperation, informative interactions, and efforts in making the visit successful and enriching from an academic perspective.
