Review Meeting at STNM Hospital, Gangtok

A review meeting on the implementation and progress of AB-PMJAY and ABDM was held at STNM Hospital, Gangtok, on 19 March 2026. The programme was chaired by Dr. Sangeeta Pradhan, PDHS-cum-CEO PMJAY, and Dr. Doma Bhutia, Director-cum-Nodal Officer PMJAY. The meeting was attended by ANS, CHO, DNS and Health Educators of STNM Hospital, along with PMJAY staff, officials from the State Health Agency (SHA) Sikkim, and ABDM officials from the Head Office, Gangtok.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were carried out on various aspects of the AB-PMJAY scheme. The package system under PMJAY was reviewed, with emphasis on the proper selection and utilization of packages to ensure smooth claim processing and maximum benefit to patients. The importance of maintaining accurate and complete documentation was strongly highlighted, and all concerned were advised to ensure that records such as pre-authorizations, treatment details, and discharge summaries are properly maintained to avoid any discrepancies or claim rejections.
Matters related to fund management were also discussed, particularly focusing on the timely settlement of claims and smooth fund flow. The officials stressed the need for better coordination between the hospital administration and the State Health Agency to address any financial bottlenecks. Treatment guidelines under PMJAY were reviewed, and participants were instructed to strictly adhere to the prescribed protocols to maintain quality and consistency in healthcare services.
The achievements of STNM Hospital under AB-PMJAY were also reviewed during the meeting, and the progress made in terms of service delivery and patient coverage was appreciated. Additionally, an overview of the upcoming scheme, PM RAHAT, was presented, and initial discussions were held regarding its implementation and expected benefits.
Furthermore, the current status of ABDM implementation at STNM Hospital was updated. Progress in areas such as ABHA ID generation, digital health record management, and integration with ABDM platforms was discussed. The benefits of online prescription under ABDM were also highlighted, emphasizing improved accessibility, better record-keeping, reduced chances of prescription errors, and enhanced continuity of care for patients. The challenges faced during implementation were also brought forward, and necessary steps to strengthen digital health services were deliberated.
The meeting concluded with a directive to all stakeholders to enhance coordination, ensure strict compliance with guidelines, and work towards improving the overall effectiveness of both AB-PMJAY and ABDM initiatives at STNM Hospital.
