Dynamic Cupping Therapy
Dynamic cupping therapy is a modern adaptation of traditional cupping therapy that incorporates movement to enhance fascial release and muscle mobility. Unlike traditional "static" cupping, where cups remain in one spot for several minutes, dynamic cupping involves either sliding the cups over the skin or having the patient move the targeted body part while the cups are applied.
Key CharacteristicsGliding Motion: Often called "slide" or "glide" cupping, the practitioner uses massage oil to pull a suctioned cup—typically made of flexible silicone—across muscle fibers.Active Movement: Patients may perform active stretching or specific exercises while the cups provide negative pressure, which helps separate fascial layers and break up adhesions.Reduced Bruising: Because the cups are constantly moving rather than sitting in one spot, this method often leaves fewer or no circular marks compared to static cupping.
