Two sheets of paper and a few minutes together. That’s all you need to try this activity with your parents.

Watch as we crumple a sheet in each hand, move the paper balls together, then try opening each one using just the hand holding it. That last part is trickier than it looks!

Take your time. It’s okay if the paper tears or one hand takes a little longer. Enjoy figuring it out together.

Remembering Lal Bahadur Shastri ji with warmth and respect. 🇮🇳

Today at Aayu, our elders spent time remembering a leader whose words and values many of them grew up hearing.

Through a simple activity, they shared memories, thoughts, and admiration for his simplicity, honesty, and love for the country.

Moments like these remind us that our seniors carry not just stories from the past, but also the values that continue to guide us today.

At Aayu, we do not call them senior citizens. We call them Elders.

Today is 1 October, International Day of Older Persons. We would rather just call it theirs.

They raised us, taught us, waited up for us, and they still ask whether we have eaten. So today we say thank you out loud, in seven slides.

Swipe through. The small good things that fill their days: a song in the morning, a game nobody wants to lose, a story told for the tenth time and better every time. Then four things you can do this week for an elder in your life.

Call and ask about their day, not only their health. Ask what they would like to do, then do it with them. Include them in a decision that is theirs to make. And show them the photograph you took and never sent.
