Respected elders, community members, health officials, and my dear brothers and sisters,
Today, I stand before you to address a matter of serious public health concern — the outbreak of Hepatitis A in Village Shumeriyal, Block Kupwara.
Hepatitis A is a viral infection that affects the liver and spreads mainly through contaminated food and drinking water, as well as poor hygiene practices. This disease is highly contagious and can spread rapidly within communities, especially where sanitation conditions are inadequate.

In our village, the likely causes of this outbreak include:
Consumption of unsafe or contaminated drinking water
Poor sanitation and improper disposal of waste
Lack of hand hygiene, especially before eating or preparing food
Close contact with infected individuals
As per global health observations, outbreaks like this are strongly linked with lack of clean water and sanitation facilities.

Dear friends,
This outbreak can be controlled — but only if we work together. Health authorities, local administration, and the community must act in coordination.
Let us take responsibility for our village, protect our families, and ensure that such outbreaks do not occur again.
Together, with awareness, hygiene, and cooperation — we can defeat Hepatitis A.
Thank you.
