Duoflam Gel, a 30gm topical analgesic, is primarily prescribed for acute musculoskeletal pain and osteoarthritis-related joint pain. It eases pain, reduces swelling, and relieves joint stiffness, enhancing joint mobility. Comprising Diclofenac and Methyl salicylate for pain relief, Linseed oil for inflammation, and Menthol for a cooling effect, Duoflam Gel disrupts pain signals by alternating betw
een cooling and warming sensations on the skin, thus impeding nerve transmission. Together, these components block the release of pain-causing chemical messengers and reduce inflammation, alleviating pain and swelling. Usage of Duoflam Gel should strictly adhere to doctor's advice, applying it externally only. In case of accidental contact with eyes, mouth, or nose, rinse with water immediately. Application should be on the affected area using clean cotton wool or gauze swab, with caution to avoid exceeding the recommended dosage to prevent adverse effects. Common side effects like burning, itching, redness, stinging, or dryness at the application site are usually mild and transient. Persistent side effects warrant consultation with a doctor. Duoflam Gel is not recommended for children under two years old, and caution is advised for older children (2-12 years), especially those with viral infections like flu, chickenpox, or fever, as its content of methyl salicylate may lead to Reyes Syndrome, characterized by liver and brain swelling.
