Wearing lenses for too long or "topping up" solution are risks you shouldn't take. Dr. Savio Pereira discusses how poor lens habits can starve the eye of oxygen and disrupt the natural tear layer, leading to infections and severe dryness. Learn the right way to handle your lenses to keep your vision clear and pain-free. See the video for essential contact lens safety tips.

Watery eyes. Constant wiping. Blurred vision. It sounds like a contradiction, but excessive tearing is a classic symptom of Dry Eye Disease. As Dr. Y. L. Rajshekhar explains, when your eyes lose their protective moisture, the nerves send a "panic signal" to the brain. The result? A flood of emergency tears that don’t actually hydrate.

Is your eye makeup causing long-term irritation? Applying kajal on the waterline or using heavy lash extensions can block the tiny glands responsible for keeping your eyes moist. As Dr. Savio Pereira explains, when these glands are obstructed, your tears evaporate faster, leading to a persistent burning sensation. Watch the reel to learn how to protect your glands.

Rubbing your eyes may feel like relief, but it may not address the cause.

Warm compress and lid hygiene are simple eye care steps that can support better eyelid cleanliness and comfort.

Here’s how you can do it:

Use a clean warm cloth over closed eyelids for a few minutes. Then, with clean hands, gently wipe along the lash line using a clean cotton pad, lid wipe or ophthalmologist-recommended cleanser. Do not rub, scrub or press the eyes.

But if dryness, irritation or redness continues, don’t manage it on your own. Aankhein keh rahi hain. Adjust nahin, check karo. Visit your nearest ophthalmologist today.

Persistent dryness, irritation, redness or watery eyes could be signs of Dry Eye Disease. Aankhein bol rahi hain, . If you notice any of these signs of Dry Eye Disease, visit your nearest ophthalmologist today.

Your eyes deserve a routine too.

Morning: Use a clean warm compress for a few minutes to help soothe dry, tired eyes.
Mid-day: Take screen breaks and do slow, complete blinks to refresh your eyes.
Night: Gently clean your eyelids and lash line to remove build-up.

If burning, itching, watering, redness or blurry vision keeps coming back, don’t adjust to it. Aankhein keh rahi hai. Adjust nahin, check karo.

Visit your nearest ophthalmologist today.

Sources: American Academy of Ophthalmology, Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic recommend warm compresses, blinking/screen breaks and eyelid hygiene as supportive dry eye care steps.

Itching and watering don’t always mean an allergy. Many patients misdiagnose themselves and use anti-allergy drops which can actually dry out the eyes further. Dr. Y. L. Rajshekhar explains how to differentiate between an environmental allergy and a true tear film imbalance.
