Avyavdan aani arogyaseva Dindi: Departure Ceremony 2026

NGO DOST Mumbai is celebrating its Silver Jubilee Year in 2026, and this marks the 12th year of its unique Avyavdan aani arogyaseva Dindi initiative.

This year, the initiative has received the support and goodwill of the Panvel Municipal Corporation. Therefore, the annual Departure Ceremony will be celebrated on a much grander scale than ever before.

As part of the celebrations, individuals and organizations that have extended valuable support to DOST and its activities over the years will be felicitated. In addition, as in previous years, eminent personalities who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of organ donation and healthcare services will be honored with the prestigious Dindi Awards 2026.

On this occasion, DOST Kala Manch and Nritya Navrasa Dance Academy have also organized a special cultural program titled “हेचि दान देगा देवा” (Hechi Daan Dega Deva) featuring dance and musical performances.

जरी कर्म करतो आम्ही
सकळ कार्यसिद्धीसाठी
‘हे कार्य व्हावे’ असे ही
इच्छा सख्या पांडुरंगाची

वारी मध्ये जे काय होतं ते पांडुरंगाच्या इच्छेने होतं अशी प्रत्येक वारकऱ्याची धारणा असते. त्यामुळेच प्रत्येक वारकरी निवांत असतो... आलेल्या प्रत्येक परिस्थितीचा सामना करत असतो.... वारीत चालत असतो.... वारी मध्ये चालता चालता प्रत्येक घटनेकडे पांडुरंगाची इच्छा म्हणुन बघण्याचा त्याचा स्वभाव बनतो. एखादे कार्य "ही पांडुरंगाची इच्छा आहे" या भावनेने सुरू केले, तर ते निश्चितच यशस्वी होते
हा देखील अनुभव त्याला येऊ लागतो. मलाही हा अनुभव आला.

समाजहिताचे कार्य करत असताना अनेक दानशूर व्यक्ती आपल्या पाठीशी उभ्या राहतात. पंढरपूर वारीच्या संदर्भात तर हा अनुभव विशेषत्वाने येतो. वारीमध्ये भरभरून दान करणारे आणि सेवाकार्यात सहभागी होणारे असंख्य लोक आम्ही पाहिले आहेत. संस्थेच्या कार्याचा वाढता व्याप लक्षात घेता, संस्थेसाठीही देणगीच्या माध्यमातून आर्थिक पाठबळ उभे करणे आवश्यक आहे, असे वाटू लागले. काही हितचिंतकांनी देणगी मिळवण्यासाठी प्रस्ताव तयार करून दानशूर व्यक्तींना पाठवावेत, असा सल्ला दिला. त्यानुसार काही प्रस्ताव तयार करून विविध व्यक्तींना पाठविण्यात आले होते; परंतु सुरुवातीला कुणाकडूनही सकारात्मक प्रतिसाद मिळाला नव्हता.

मुंबईतील चार्टर्ड अकाउंटंट श्री. के. सी. लुथिया यांनी समाजसेवेसाठी स्वतःचे जीवन समर्पित करण्याच्या हेतूने आपला व्यवसाय सोडला. मुलुंड येथे ‘मानव ज्योत पब्लिक चॅरिटेबल ट्रस्ट’ची स्थापना करून त्यांनी गरजू लोकांसाठी कार्य सुरू केले. ते स्वतः तर गरजू लोकांना मदत करतातच, पण त्याचबरोबर लहान सामाजिक संस्था आणि वैयक्तिक पातळीवर समाजसेवा करणाऱ्या व्यक्तींनाही प्रोत्साहन व मदत करतात. खऱ्या अर्थाने त्यांनी समाजसेवेचा दीप केवळ तेवत ठेवला नाही, तर इतरांच्या मनातही सेवाभावाचा दीप प्रज्वलित करण्याचे महान कार्य केले आहे.

शुक्रवारी त्यांनी मला अवयवदानावरील पुस्तकाच्या अनावरणासाठी आमंत्रित केले. त्याचवेळी त्यांनी दोस्त मुंबईच्या अवयवदान व आरोग्य सेवा दिंडीसाठी एक लाख रुपये देणगी देणार असल्याचे सांगितले. शनिवारी त्यांच्या कार्यालयात अवयवदानावरील पुस्तकाचे अनावरण संपन्न झाले आणि त्याच प्रसंगी त्यांनी दोस्त मुंबईला एक लाख रुपयांचा धनादेश सुपूर्द केला.

त्यांनी दिलेली ही देणगी आमच्यासाठी अत्यंत मौल्यवान आणि प्रेरणादायी आहे. समाजसेवा आणि समाजप्रबोधनाचे कार्य आमच्या हातून घडत असले, तरी ते केवळ आणि केवळ पांडुरंगाच्या इच्छेनेच घडत आहे, याची पुन्हा एकदा प्रचीती आली. आणि म्हणूनच हे कार्य निश्चितपणे यशस्वी होणार, असा विश्वास अधिक दृढ झाला आहे.

श्री. के. सी. लुथिया यांच्या रूपाने पांडुरंगानेच आम्हाला देणगीच्या स्वरूपात आशीर्वाद दिला आहे, अशी मनोमन भावना आज मनात दाटून येत आहे...

Greetings from Dr Kailash Jawade!

DOST is an organization that has been conducting various social service activities for the past twenty-five years. The organization has made significant contributions in the fields of organ donation awareness, healthcare and surgical camps, women’s empowerment, social forestry, and spiritual development. To reach a wider audience and share information about the organization’s work, an informational publication titled 'Seva Sandesh' will be distributed every three months on behalf of the organization.

In addition to highlighting the activities of the organization, this publication will also feature information about the social work being carried out by individuals like you in various fields.

For those who possess a talent for literary writing, Seva Sandesh will also be developed as a literary platform.

A few pages will be reserved for professionals and businesspersons to publish their advertisements.

Through Seva Sandesh, DOST’s annual report for 2025–26 has been published. It also includes articles providing information about the activities and initiatives undertaken during the previous year.

राम कृष्ण हरी!
दोस्त ही संस्था पंचवीस वर्षापासून विविध प्रकारचे सामाजिक उपक्रम राबवत आहे. अवयव दान जनजागृती, आरोग्यसेवा शल्य चिकित्सा शिबिरे, महिला सक्षमीकरण, सामाजिक वनीकरण, आध्यात्मिक विकास या क्षेत्रामध्ये संस्थेने मोठे कार्य केले आहे. संस्थेचे कार्य सर्वांपर्यंत पोहोचवण्यासाठी 'सेवा संदेश' या नावाने दर तीन महिन्याला संस्थेच्या वतीने माहिती पुस्तक सर्वांपर्यंत पाठवण्यात येणार आहे.

संस्थेच्या कार्यासोबतच विविध क्षेत्रातील आपल्यासारख्या व्यक्तींकडून केल्या जाणाऱ्या सामाजिक कार्याची माहिती देखील या पुस्तकामध्ये प्रकाशित केली जाणार आहे.

काही जणांना साहित्य लेखनाची प्रतिभा लाभलेली असते अशा व्यक्तींसाठी देखील सेवा संदेश एक साहित्य मंच म्हणून विकसित केला जाणार आहे.

व्यावसायिक व्यक्तींसाठी त्यांच्या जाहिराती देण्यासाठी काही पेजेस राखीव ठेवण्यात येणार आहेत.

सेवा संदेश च्या माध्यमातून दोस्त चा २०२५-२६ चा अहवाल प्रकाशित करण्यात आला आहे. त्यासोबतच मागील वर्षाच्या उपक्रमांविषयी माहिती देणारे काही लेखही प्रकाशित करण्यात आले आहे.
