We welcome Riza Arshi for her summer internship at ETI!🌟

Riza says, "What really drew me to ETI is the kind of impact the work here creates at a ground level, especially in children’s eye health. To me, the idea that something as simple as an eye screening or a pair of spectacles; helping a child see the blackboard clearly can completely change a child’s learning experience is incredibly powerful. The fact that ETI creates that kind of measurable difference in so many children’s lives is really inspiring to me, and it also feels personally meaningful. I’m also deeply passionate about mental health and women’s health, so I admire how ETI works across different areas of healthcare with a focus on accessibility, awareness, empowerment and long-term impact. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with an organization that combines research, community work, and real social change in such a thoughtful way."

Here’s to a summer of learning, collaboration, and creating meaningful impact together!

India recorded 1,70,746 deaths by su***de in 2024. That is nearly 19 lives lost every hour.

The latest NCRB data reminds us that su***de is not only a mental health issue, but also deeply linked to family distress, financial pressures, illness, addiction, and emotional isolation.

Nearly 3 out of every 4 su***de deaths were men, pointing toward the urgent need for stronger conversations around mental health, masculinity, support systems, and emotional wellbeing.

Su***de prevention must become a national conversation, not just during moments of crisis, but in our homes, workplaces, schools, and communities.

1 in 7 of us is struggling, and most are doing it in silence.

Not because help isn’t needed,
but because stigma, cost, and access stand in the way.

Mental health isn’t rare. Talking about it shouldn't be either.

This , don’t just acknowledge it;
start a conversation, check in, and demand systems that care.

On World Malaria Day, we honor the pioneering contributions of our founder and Padma Shri Awardee Scientist Prof. Virander Singh Chauhan, whose work in recombinant malaria vaccines and synthetic peptide research helped shape India’s scientific response to malaria. Inspired by his legacy, we remain committed to prevention, innovation, and protecting every life from preventable disease.

On 8th and 9th April, Saksham brought together civil society organisations in Kolkata for two days of hands-on learning, reflection, and exchange.

Participants explored practical fundraising strategies, understood different donor landscapes, and experimented with building campaigns,,2aā„– that amplify their voices and foster genuine human connections. The room was filled with ideas, collaboration, and a shared commitment to strengthening impact.

Because strong organisations are built not just on resources, but on relationships. ✨

We were proud to host ā€˜Policy Leadership in Action: Dialogue with Sector Leaders’, the capstone of the course 'Ideas to Action: Translating Social Research to Policy Action', conducted in collaboration with the Policy Centre and Gender Lab at Miranda House, today.

Through this journey, students explored how research can shape policies and create meaningful social impact. The dialogue with sector leaders: Dr Devendra Khandait, Dr Urvashi Prasad, Dr Aqsa Shaikh, and Ms Divya Vasudeva, moderated by our CEO Dr. Sukriti Chauhan, offered valuable and real-world insights into how translating evidence into action looks like.

We were also delighted to felicitate students who successfully completed the course with certificates, celebrating their dedication and commitment to applying research for public good. šŸŽ“

With the continued support of our partners, this initiative reflects a shared commitment to preparing the next generation of thoughtful, ethical policy leaders.

Here’s to building bridges between research and real-world change. šŸš€
