To support this Acharya wrote the first aim of is to maintain a good health and if unfortunately disease occurs then second aim is to remove the disease by its root causes.
The definition of health is described around 5500 years ago which is where is similar to the definition given by WHO; As a balance between physical body, mental thoughts, doshas, Dhatu, Agni and Aathma
To maintain our good health one should must know his body constitution ( Prakruti ) and it is not just physical but also mental and spiritual one.
To maintain good physical health Ayurveda have advised Dehshudhi/ Body purification/ Body Detox procedure.
In our daily routine a number of toxins are formed in our body, though many of them are removed. Still a lot them are stored in body it keeps on accumulating. So it is very much necessary to remove it and to re-generate body organs.
Body purification process or Deh shudhi is not a single treatment but consist of five main procedure called-
1) Vaman - for kapha dosha
2) Virechan- for Pitta dosha
3) Basti - for Vata dosha
4) Nasya- for Head region
5) Rakta Mokshan - for Blood purification and Pitta dosha.

There are some pre- procedures
1) Snehan- use of medicated oil and ghee; internally or externally
2) Swedan - to make perspiring

Lastly post procedure-
1) Liquid diet
2) No exercise

All these procedures are also helpful for treatment of various disease only chase in the medicine according to disease and its root cause is most.
Similarly various local procedure are also very helpful like -
1) Janu Basti- knee joint pain
2) Kati Basti- Lower back ache
3) Hruday Basti- Heart disease
4) Shirodhara - Head ache , sleep disorders
5) Netra Basti- Eye diseases

In last year as I was visiting doctor for Covid care centre, many patients were asking about pranayama. A number of people were making various remarks on both sides of pranayama.( Benefits and side effects) .
So, I started myself practising and thinking about it. In that same period I came across various books regarding pranayama.
So as a theory and practical I feel about it is,
1) Majority of the people look at it as a physical exercise but Pranayam is not just physical exercise it is our mental , spiritual exercise too.
2) You should understand that it is the fourth stage of “ Ashtang Yoga” and to complete benefit you should or must practise previous stages like Yam, Niyam, and Asan

How does pranayama benefit us?

Who understand this we will take example of windmill . we can generate electrical energy from far away windmill, even if it is slowly moving it was still useful . once it is activated it is for long time . similarly in our body there are many windmill. with the help of pranayama we have to take inhaled air ( wind) up to that mill. once it it started moving all you have undisturb , clean energy that too free of cost.
To gain his energy there are only two steps,
1) to find the windmill in your body.
2) to direct the inhaled air to that windmill.
With the help of his energy you can realise that for a sense of the body.

I have experienced it myself and I have experimented it on others too.

Your nature become more calm self-sufficient and mainly happy.

It is a common knowledge that all our thoughts and feelings are generated by brain and to achieve it we do action controlled by brain with the help of nerves. Both these brain and nervous are you know most part of physical body if they are strong you can feel the strength.
When we normally breathe we just inhale and exhale but in Pranayama there is just one more stage of Hold called Kumbhak. which is according to me is the most important and meaningful stage in his holding all you have to do is to guide your inheld air to the windmill.
Now there are seven windmill (Chakra) in our body the first one is at a**l region and the last one is at brain. So you have to inhale hold it and find the first windmill. once it is activated it starts pushing upside then the second mill, then the third, lastly the seventh.
In doing so complete use of our lung capacity and complete burning of the inhale oxygen done simultaneously the energy generated is passed through our inner most nervers. so it grew strong and finally we are totally energised.
This is my finding about Pranayama. It helps a lot. Do it now.
