A 6-year-old, extremely anxious patient visited us, afraid of injections and sharp objects. He was in deep pain with swelling pertaining to tooth no. 75.
Parents were advised of treatment under general anesthesia by another dentist, but they did not want general anesthesia and were referred to us.
Behavior shaping and conditioning is what we started with. His behavior improved significantly. Pulpectomy and an SS crown were completed chairside without the use of any sedation. The parents were extremely happy, and the patient was discharged with a smile.
Learn various techniques for managing pediatric patients on the dental chair, restorative therapy, pulpotomy and pulpectomy, space maintainers, and stainless steel crowns.
