Happy 3 Years to Me and the UK! 🫶❤️
Sometimes I wonder, is this even real life? I dreamt of London when I first saw Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. We always talk about the hardships of moving abroad, but today, let’s talk about how much it gives back and show gratitude to the city that gave us a second home.
I was a shy, scared child. Growing up, I had dreams but never the courage to fulfill them. In 2021, I took a leap of faith and never looked back. This city brought me courage, the confidence to do things on my own. Staying abroad challenges you, but it also opens your heart to beautiful people, places, and adventures.
While we’re taught to say "No" and set boundaries, today maybe try saying "Yes" to the thing you’ve always wanted to do. I’ve met some amazing people here. It brought me back to my true self—the inner child who loved makeup and the camera but was always scared to follow that path.
It sucks to be away from family and loved ones, but the pride and joy on their faces as you slowly fulfill your dreams is unmatchable. I’ve shed a lot of tears (I’m a big crier, lol), but I’ve also had the most wholesome laughs. I’ve cried tears of gratitude and joy and felt the divine in more ways than I could imagine. I’ve made friends—some I still talk to, some I don’t—but my younger self, who thought she wasn’t good enough to have friends, would be so proud.
I’ve also learned to accept the duality of ourselves—we aren’t tied to one box, but are multifaceted beings. As much as I love glam makeup, I also find my spiritual practices peaceful and calming. I feel most at home when I do tarot readings and talk about the things that mean the most to me. 💫
