📅 1️⃣ Your EDD is best established early in pregnancy
The first-trimester ultrasound , particularly the early dating scan, is the most reliable way to establish gestational age when LMP dates are uncertain.

👶 2️⃣ What does a later ultrasound actually measure?
In the 2nd & 3rd trimester, the machine measures your baby’s:
📏 Head measurements
📐 Abdominal circumference
🦴 Femur length
⚖️ Estimated fetal weight

🧠 3️⃣ The machine then compares these measurements with average babies of different gestational ages.
So, if your baby is measuring smaller than average, the machine may calculate a“younger gestational age” and display a different EDD.

⚠️ But that does NOT mean your baby has actually become younger! 😄

📊 4️⃣ Later ultrasound = GROWTH assessment, not re-dating!

The **weight percentile** tells us whether your baby is:
✅ Growing appropriately
📈 Small for gestational age
📉 Showing growth restriction
📊 Larger than expected

🎯 5️⃣ So remember:
Early scan → DATE the pregnancy 📅
Later scan → ASSESS growth & wellbeing 👶

❌ Don’t change your delivery date based only on a late-pregnancy ultrasound.

❤️ One pregnancy. One established EDD.
Trust the dating scan and let later scans do what they are meant to do—monitor your baby’s growth.

People often see the doctor in the OPD.
They don’t always see the festivals missed, the weekends worked, the family functions skipped, or the late-night emergency calls answered.

But today... we paused for a while. ❤️

A little laughter.
A few fun games.
A cake.
A lot of smiles.
Because happiness isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity.

When we laugh, play, dance, exercise or spend time with people we enjoy, our brain releases neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin and endorphins—our natural “feel-good chemicals.” These support mental well-being, reduce stress and help us recharge for the people who depend on us.

As doctors, we encourage our patients to take care of themselves.
Today, we reminded ourselves to do the same.

💛 And here’s my message to you:

Don’t wait for a holiday.
Don’t wait for retirement.
Don’t wait for “more time.”

Create moments that make you smile.
Play with your children.
Dance in your living room.
Go for that walk.
Laugh with your friends.

If doctors can find time between OPDs, deliveries, surgeries and emergencies…
You can too!
✨ Your health is not just about medicines.
It’s also about movement, laughter, connection and joy.
“Find an excuse to play today.”🎈

"Behind every healthy mother, every newborn's first cry, every life saved, and every reassuring smile... is a doctor who chose to care.

This Doctors' Day, don't just wish doctors in general. Reach out to the one who stood by you when you needed them most.

❤️ Send this reel to the doctor who made a difference in your life. A simple 'Thank you' can mean more than you imagine.

If you’re in your 40s and suddenly finding yourself saying:
🔸”Why do I have sleep disturbance? “
🔸 “Why do my joints hurt so much?”
🔸 “Why am I feeling hot when everyone else is comfortable?”
🔸 “Why am I so irritable these days?”
🔸 “Why can’t I remember simple things?”
🔸 “Why am I waking up tired despite sleeping?”
🔸 “Why have my periods become unpredictable?”

You’re not imagining it.
You’re not becoming lazy.
And you’re definitely not “just getting old.”

These can be symptoms of perimenopause— the hormonal transition before menopause that can begin years before periods stop.

The problem?
Many women suffer silently because they think it’s something they simply have to tolerate.

You don’t.

There are ways to improve your symptoms, protect your bones, heart, sleep, mood, and quality of life.

💛 If this sounds like you, talk to your gynaecologist.

Because sometimes awareness is the first treatment.

POV: When my patient proudly says,
👉 “Doctor, main toh har baar urine ke baad paani se wash karti hoon...” 😌
Meanwhile the fungus on the v***a: 💃🕺🎉🎊

While cleanliness is important, excessive washing and constant moisture are not.

The v***al skin likes to stay clean, dry and breathable.
Repeated washing, especially if the area remains damp afterwards, can:
❌ Trap moisture and heat
❌ Irritate the skin barrier
❌ Increase the risk of itching and fungal infections

✔️ Wash when needed
✔️ Pat dry gently
✔️ Wear breathable cotton underwear
✔️ Change out of sweaty clothes promptly

Remember: More washing ≠ Better intimate health.

Sometimes the healthiest v***a is the one that’s left alone 😄

🧘‍♀️ Sometimes the best medicine doesn’t come in a prescription.
It comes from moving your body, calming your mind, and showing up for yourself every day. ❤️

As a gynaecologist, I see how regular physical activity can improve hormonal balance, reduce stress, improve sleep, support fertility, help manage PCOS, strengthen bones, and improve overall women’s health.

And no, you don’t need to do a headstand.

You just need to start.

One stretch.
One walk.
One Surya Namaskar.
One deep breath.

Because the hardest pose in yoga is often the one that gets you to begin.

This International Yoga Day, make a promise to yourself:
✨ Move more
✨ Breathe deeper
✨ Stress less
✨ Take care of the one body that takes care of everyone else

Your future self will thank you. 💛

Happy International Yoga Day!

The sweetest part of any trip isn’t the destination—it’s the feeling of being missed by the women and families who trust you with their health, their pregnancies, and some of the most important moments of their lives. ❤️

“She’ll judge me…”
That one fear sends so many women straight to Google, a friend’s advice, or a chemist’s counter.
But before anything else, one thing must be confirmed in early pregnancy:
👉 Is the pregnancy inside the uterus — or not?
Because if it’s an ectopic pregnancy (growing in the tube), abortion pills won’t work.
And the delay can mean dangerous internal bleeding, emergency surgery — or worse.

A pregnancy test tells you if you’re pregnant.
An ultrasound tells you where. 📍
Those are not the same thing. And that difference can be life-saving.

Gynaecologists are not here to judge you.
They’re here to protect you. 🌸

Period miss hua… aur chemist se dawaai le li. 😶
Yeh sirf ek galti nahi thi —
yeh ek emergency ban gayi.
Self-medication kisi ki bhi jaan le sakti hai.
Apni kisi bhi saheli, behen, ya family member ko yeh video zaroor bhejein. 🙏
Real stories. Real risks.

✔️ Blood pressure — metabolic risk का silent indicator

Early diagnosis. Right tests. Better future.

अगर आपको irregular periods, weight gain, acne, या hair fall हो रहा है — बिना ultrasound के wait किए पहले इन tests की बात अपने doctor से करें।
