TKR for OA knee is undoubtedly an established and very rewarding surgery now. But doing a TKR in a relatively ‘young’ active old person particularly with Mono-compartmental OA is an overkill and requires a big revision sooner or later. A uni Knee replacement in such cases can be very good choice with very quick recovery and a feeling of more natural knee by pt. I was myself pleasantly surprised to see this 57 yrs. old pt. going home on third day painless and walking without support.I think Uni Knee is a very good and rewarding option for such cases. Smaller incision, little post op. pain, faster recovery and more natural kinematics are the big advantages.

Stage 1... Freshen the tunnels and bone graft.
