On my last post, this correction came up and I say let me share 🤗🤗

SLEEPING WITH BRA.

Yes., there is no good scientific evidence that says sleeping with out a bra prevents cancer or prevents breasts from sagging BUT if you choose to wear a bra while sleeping then

🫴Wear a soft, non-wired, well-fitting bra, such as a sleep bra or a comfortable sports bra.
🫴Make sure it is not too tight, as a tight bra can leave marks, cause discomfort, or irritate the skin.

For breastfeeding mothers:

🫴A soft nursing bra at night may help hold breast pads in place and provide comfort if the breasts feel heavy or are leaking. Again, it should not be tight. 🙏

TIPS EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW 👇

1. Do not wear bras to bed — it can damage breast tissue and reduce growth.

2. Apply perfume to pulse points (wrists, neck, behind ears) for it to last longer.

3. Drink plenty of water, especially during your period, to ease cramps and bloating.

4. Never sleep with makeup on — it clogs pores and ages your skin.

5. Never share makeup brushes — it spreads bacteria.

6. Moisturize your skin immediately after showering to lock in hydration.

7. Apply lip balm before lipstick for smooth lips.

8. Do not sleep with tight clothes and underwear.

9. Always wear hair bonnets while going to bed to protect your hair.

10. Avoid sugary drinks and foods- they make you age faster.

Who is more likely to develop a keloid scar ?

The risk is higher in people who:
🫴Have a family history of keloids
🫴Are between 10 and 30 years old
🫴Have had a keloid before

If you’ve developed one keloid, you’re more likely to develop another after future injuries or surgeries.

Some women develop a raised scar after a C-section because their body produces excessive collagen during healing.

A C-section scar may become:
🫴Thick
🫴 Raised
🫴 Itchy
🫴Darker
🫴Wider over time

Can keloids be prevented?
They can’t always be prevented, especially if you’re genetically prone to them, but the risk may be reduced by:
🫴Following wound care instructions carefully
🫴Keeping the wound clean
🫴Avoiding unnecessary tension on the incision
🫴Using silicone gel or silicone sheets once the wound is fully healed and your healthcare provider says it’s safe
🫴Protecting the scar from excessive sun exposure

How are keloids treated?
Treatment depends on the size and symptoms.

Options include:
🫴Silicone gel or silicone sheets
🫴Steroid injections (one of the most common and effective treatments)
🫴Pressure therapy (for certain areas like the ear)
🫴Cryotherapy (freezing small keloids)
🫴Laser therapy
🫴Surgery (often combined with steroid injections or other treatments because keloids can return)
In selected cases, other medicines or radiation therapy after surgery may be recommended by specialists to reduce recurrence.

Early treatment often gives better results than waiting until the keloid becomes large.

WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME TO HAVE ANOTHER BABY AFTER C.SECTION ?

🩺The ideal time to wait before becoming pregnant again after a Caesarean section is at least 18 to 24 months after giving birth.

🩺Waiting this long gives your body enough time to:

🫴Allow the uterine scar to heal well.
🫴Reduce the risk of the scar opening (uterine rupture) during a future pregnancy or labor.
🫴Lower the chances of premature birth and low birth weight.
🫴Give your body time to replenish nutrients like iron and folate, which are important for a healthy pregnancy.

If pregnancy happens sooner than 18 months, many women still go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies. However, the risks are generally a bit higher, especially if conception occurs within the first 6–12 months after a C-section. This means it’s important to start antenatal care early and be monitored closely by an obstetrician.

For women who have had multiple C-sections or complications with their previous surgery, the doctor may recommend waiting even longer, depending on their individual situation.

After a C-section, there isn’t a strict “C-section diet,” but eating nutritious foods helps support wound healing, bowel function, energy levels, and breastfeeding (if applicable)

🫴Within the first 24 hours (Day 1)
After surgery, the healthcare team usually starts with:

_Clear fluids (water, broth, clear soup)
_ Tea (if allowed)
_Fruit juice (without too much sugar)
_Oral rehydration fluids if needed

Once bowel sounds return and you’re passing gas, you can gradually move to soft foods.

🫴Day 2 to the end of the first week
Focus on foods that are easy to digest and rich in nutrients:

_Pap (ogi), oats, custard
_Rice, potatoes, yam, sweet potatoes
_Beans (if well tolerated)
_Eggs
_Fish, chicken, lean meat
_Vegetables (spinach, ugu, pumpkin leaves, carrots)
_Fruits (oranges, apples, bananas, pawpaw, watermelon)
_Milk or yogurt (if tolerated)
_Plenty of water (2–3 liters daily unless advised otherwise)

These foods provide:
_Protein for wound healing.
_Vitamin C to support tissue repair.
_Iron to replace blood lost during delivery.
_Fiber and fluids to help prevent constipation, which is common after a C-section.

🫴Foods to limit during the first week
These foods don’t have to be completely avoided, but some women may find they worsen bloating or constipation:

_Very oily or greasy foods,
_Excessively spicy foods (if they upset your stomach),
_Sugary drinks and excessive sweets,
_Alcohol (especially if breastfeeding)

🫴After the first week
Most mothers can continue eating a normal, balanced diet as long as they feel comfortable. There is no evidence that certain nutritious foods must be avoided simply because of a C-section.
