Hello hello dear friends!
I hope everyone is doing well, happy and healthy and 2026 is going the way you all like it to. Here is a little update on the "nothing" that is happening with our case.
Over the last year I have repeatedly attempted to follow up on my criminal complaint regarding Vegan Junk ehf., The Valkyrjan ehf. and the destruction of what was once one of Iceland’s largest vegan business infrastructures.
These screenshots show my communication with the police throughout that process.
I understand my final email was emotional. I accept that openly. After years of watching a company, employees, investors, suppliers, customers, and an entire ecosystem collapse without visible accountability, emotions are natural.
What frustrates me most is not only the financial damage done to me personally, but the wider impact this had on the vegan movement in Iceland.
Junkyard and Vegan Búdin were not isolated businesses. They helped create import flow, product availability, and commercial demand for vegan products across the country. When that infrastructure disappeared, the consequences affected far more people than just myself.
Looking at the communication history, I honestly do not know what to think anymore. Maybe the system is overloaded. Maybe the case was never prioritized properly. Maybe there are factors behind the scenes I am unaware of.
What I do know is this:
- clear evidence was submitted,
- multiple companies collapsed,
- assets disappeared,
- employees suffered,
- creditors were left behind,
- and years later there still appears to be no meaningful investigation or accountability.
I have largely moved on with my life, but every few months I revisit this situation wondering whether anything more can realistically be done.
If anyone with legal, investigative, or professional insight has constructive ideas, I remain open to hearing them.
