🌌 States of Consciousness
Part Three – The Theta State of Consciousness
Today we continue our journey through states of consciousness by entering the Theta state.
The Theta state is associated with learning and with our ability to embrace what is new.
Children are often in Theta and spend much of their time in a sort of trance. Zamperini hypothesizes that this may serve the child’s need to learn a great many things, and to do so quickly: in Theta, learning is easier and faster.
As the years go by, the field associated with Theta waves tends to weaken. Learning new things becomes more difficult, rigidity increases, and what is new may become disturbing and be rejected.
But Zamperini extends this ability to learn to our organism as well.
The immune system is a complex and intelligent structure, equipped with sensors and memory: it is by continuously learning, day after day, that it protects us from external threats.
The immune system is also powerfully activated by Theta waves.
EEG studies also seem to show that when a person slips into a state of relaxation even deeper than Alpha, and this rhythm is replaced by the slower Theta rhythm, the sense of reality begins to change.
Meditation practice can lead to a certain degree of control over this state, but it may require many years of practice.
The Energo-Vibrational Technique (TEV) instead offers a way to considerably reduce this time.
When a person enters Alpha suppression, according to Zamperini, the belief system connected to the ordinary laws of consensual reality seems to become less dominant.
The person may begin to perceive what some researchers have called “non-physical energies” and what, in the language of TEV, we can call subtle energies.

Could there be deeper connections between consciousness and healing processes?
We will continue to explore them in the upcoming insights.
