You’ve been diagnosed with a medically incurable “autoimmune” disease, so now what?
Option one: accept that this is your fate and be a part of the medical system for life. Manage symptoms, the pain, the discomfort by a cocktail of medications which inevitably fail, and just accept that this is how life will always be because that’s what your doctor told you.
OR
Option two: realise that just because it’s “medically incurable” doesn’t mean you cannot take control of your health without using a medical approach.
Having a disease that is “medically incurable” doesn’t mean you can’t get better. It means that a medical approach is not going to lead you there.
When your body is in a state of disease, it is yelling out to you that something you are doing is not right. It is crying out at you to change something and put it back into a state of ease.
Without making changes you will always be managing your symptoms.
However, when you are willing to get to the root of why those symptoms are there in the first place, everything changes.
You stop looking for a magic drug or supplement to make you feel better, and start learning about how it is the food you’re eating and the stress your under that is making you sick in the first place.
You stop feeling helpless and like you have no options, and you start realising that taking control of IBD is still very much possible.
No harm in trying a healthier more natural approach right?
You stop waiting for medicine to come up with a cure, and start eating natural whole foods that give your body the right conditions to do the repair work.
When you stop trying to manage your symptoms you stop relying on the medical system and you open up to a completely different approach.
One that shows you taking control of disease is possible, and relatively easy when you know what to do.
