Imbolc, traditionally celebrated on February 1st, is the cross-quarter holiday which marks the half way point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. This is a time to celebrate hope, the growing light of the sun, and the promise of spring.
To honor this holy day, consider one of these rituals:
🕯Create an altar to Brigid. The goddess Brigid connects us to the life-death cycles of the Earth, reminding us that all things arise, abide, and fade away. Place items that connect you to this truth on your altar, or consider some of the flowers traditionally associated with Brigid, like the snowdrop, rowan, heather, basil, or angelica.
🌱 Take time today to plan out your garden. This is the perfect day to focus on the excitement and hope that comes along with planning for the flowers, vegetables, and herbs you’re looking forward to enjoying in spring.
🌸 Go on a nature walk. Tune into the present moment by looking out for any plants that are already popping up to say hi. Connect to the courage it must take for these little plants to sprout before everyone else!
🔥 Have a fire or light a candle before your meditation and connect to the flame. Allow it to remind you of your inner light. Watch the flame dance and flitter. Listen carefully to see if any messages want to come through.
