A 72-year-old man. Cuff tear arthropathy. Severe external rotation deficit. Positive lag sign. The patient can elevate the arm, but can't turn it outward to eat, to reach a shelf, to shake a hand comfortably.

Is a standard RSA enough? Does lateralization solve it? And when is tendon transfer truly mandatory rather than optional?

Our faculty will lay out the full decision tree live in Rome: LD alone, LD+TM, or lower trapezius, followed by open panel discussion where the room gets to challenge the logic.

This isn't a recording you can catch up on later. It's a live conversation, January 22 to 23, in Rome.

A 65-year-old woman. Still active. 25° of glenoid retroversion. A partial cuff tear.

Anatomic, or reverse? It's a question that looks simple in a case report and becomes anything but simple in the OR.

Here's the uncomfortable truth: most revisions don't start in the revision surgery. They start in the primary, in a decision made years earlier, under time pressure, without a clear framework.
At Rome Arthroplasty Meeting 2027, international faculty will walk through this exact case live on stage, panel discussion included, and share the golden rules they actually operate by in anatomic and reverse arthroplasty.

This conversation happens once, in the room, on January 22 to 23 in Rome.

Here are some extensive highlights from the 2025 Rome Revision Course! 🎬

From complex case debates to candid discussions on failure management, bone loss reconstruction, instability, and infection in revision shoulder arthroplasty, the 2025 edition brought together experienced surgeons committed to advancing the standard of care. The dialogue was rigorous, the cases were real, and the learning informative.

For the upcoming 2027 course, we look to build on that foundation and provide greater, meaningful discussions. Expect an even more refined scientific program, expanded multi-section case discussions, as well as deeper exploration of contemporary revision strategies. The conference is designed and catered for surgeons who routinely manage demanding arthroplasty scenarios.

If 2025 is any indication, 2027 will raise the bar further.
