There’s something about doing things like this on a weekday that I’ve always loved.

Maybe it’s knowing that somewhere, emails are being answered, meetings are happening, people are being very responsible…and you’re sitting in a sauna on a Friday afternoon.

It feels a little indulgent. A little like you’re getting away with something.

And maybe that’s part of the pleasure.

Of course, certain company can make getting away with it feel even better.

This month, I’m thinking about foundations, the things we return to, the practices that hold us, and the small things we do consistently that make a difference.

For me, teaching is part of that foundation.

So this August, you can find me moving, breathing and practicing with you in a few different spaces around Kingston and also privately, online and in person.

When people ask where I find inspiration for my classes, the answer is rarely, on the yoga mat.

It’s in the everyday moments.

A warm cup to begin the day.

Beautiful spaces that make me stop and notice.

Fresh flowers.

A little treat.

These moments may seem ordinary, but they’re the moments that nourish me. They shape the stories I tell, the way I teach, and the way I move through the world.

I’m still not feeling one hundred percent, but these little rituals have reminded me that I don’t have to be to begin again.

I haven’t been feeling that great since yesterday, and it’s given me time to reflect.

Over the past few months, I haven’t been giving my body the care it deserves. Less sleep. Poor food choices. Not enough movement.

I don’t know if that’s why I’ve been unwell, but it has reminded me of something important.

Our bodies are always communicating with us. Sometimes the signs are quiet. Sometimes they’re impossible to ignore.

Wellness isn’t just about what we do when we feel good.

It’s about paying attention to the small signs before they become bigger ones, and having the courage to respond with care.

Today, I’m choosing to listen.

Someone said to me recently,

“But you’re a yoga teacher…”

As if I always get wellness right.

I don’t.

I’m learning that wellness isn’t about becoming the person I used to be.

It’s about consistently caring for the person I am today.

Maybe that’s the real practice…

RETURNING

One thing I’ve learned over the past few months is that healing isn’t just physical.

Sometimes your confidence needs time to heal too.

I’m learning to trust my body again.

To trust my choices.

To trust that I don’t have to rush my way back.

Just one small step at a time.

I was catching up with my friend from today, and somewhere between talking about business and life, we landed on something simple.

Building something meaningful can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be exhausting.

We all need people we can lean on. We all need good advice. And sometimes, we simply need permission to reset.

That’s one of the reasons I created SAKRÉ Saturdays.

It’s a space to step away from the noise, reconnect with yourself, and be part of a community that reminds you that you don’t have to do it all alone.

And Sakré Saturdays at Café Rosa? It’s become the way to close out the week ; movement, reflection, and community under the evening sky.

Yesterday reminded me of something…

Most of us weren’t born in Brazil.
Most of us have probably never even been there.

But somehow, every four years, we borrow a little piece of their joy.

We celebrate the goals.
We wear the colours.
We say “we” like we’ve been Brazilian all our lives. 😂💚

I actually love that about sport🥰

For a little while, strangers become teammates, conversations start with people you’ve never met, and everyone feels part of something bigger than themselves.

Maybe that’s what we’re really cheering for.

So… now that Brazil is out…
