Why Touching Velvety Leaves Matters

In forest therapy, tactile interaction is not just about feeling textures. It is about grounding and reducing stress.

Active Sensing: Placing your hand on a velvet leaf or mossy bark causes your breath to slow, your body to settle, and your mind to soften.

Mindfulness in Action: Touching soft, natural textures like silver-green, furry leaves encourages a "soft-attention" that acts as a remedy for the "hard-focus" of screen time.

Grounding: Feeling the softness reminds us of nature’s delicate strength and helps reconnect us to the present moment.

What a surprise when we moved in 11 years ago.
When I could hear a cow bell, like in Switzerland.
My heart started to beat and quickly I could observe a beautiful cow walking front of our lodge with our neighbors direction the slopes.
I ran outside and introduce ourselves to this cute old Japanese couple.
It became natural to wait of that sounds every morning knowing what time it was.
Or late at night when Heidi for example escaped and i had to bring her back to the farm on my croqs and pyjama 😀
Leaving in the country side and close to nature brings you all these unique moments.

As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, nature invites us to embrace the beauty of transition. 🍂💫

Exploring the serene forests, where the changing colors remind us to let go and prepare for the quiet magic of winter.

Let’s connect with the calmness of the trees and the whispers of the wind. Nature has so much to teach us during this time of reflection.

I feel incredibly grateful to live in such a beautiful place. Thank you, Japan, for welcoming us ten years ago! After five years of offering forest therapy retreats and programs, I stand in front of a stunning waterfall with open arms, embracing the tranquility and inspiration it brings. And feeling the power of moving water!

Shinrin yoku in the heart of Tokyo!
If you live in the city center, take a moment to find a nearby park where you can slow down and connect with nature. Choose a tree that resonates with you and spends some time in its calming presence.
It's truly amazing to find these peaceful spots amidst the bustling city! 🌿💚

🌲✨ A torii gate standing proudly before a waterfall beautifully symbolizes two key aspects of Japanese spirituality, perfectly aligning with my Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing) practice:

1. Transition to the Sacred: The torii gate marks the passage from the everyday world to the divine realm of the kami (deities).

2. Purification: Flowing water, like the waterfall, represents purification in Shinto and Buddhist traditions.

This scene invites us to immerse ourselves in nature’s tranquility and reconnect with our inner selves. 🌿 Gratitude
