Heavenly Father,
On this special day as we commemorate Madaraka Day, we lift up Kenya, our beloved nation, before Your throne of grace. Thank You for the freedom and self-governance we have enjoyed since 1963. Thank You for Your sustaining hand through every season—through trials and triumphs, through transitions and growth.
Lord, we pray for our leaders—present and future. Just as You called Abraham to walk by faith and become a father of many nations, may our leaders walk in obedience, guided by divine vision and purpose. May they be nation-builders, anchored in righteousness and faith.
Grant them wisdom like You gave Solomon, to govern with understanding and discernment. Let them seek justice for the poor, uphold the truth, and reject corruption. May their decisions bring peace and prosperity to all citizens, from the cities to the villages.
Raise up leaders like David, who, though imperfect, had a heart after You. Leaders who repent when they go wrong, who value worship, and who fight for the dignity and unity of Your people.
Let there be the boldness of Moses, who led with courage and humility. The perseverance of Nehemiah, who rebuilt a broken city with faith and action. And the integrity of Joseph, who governed with wisdom in foreign lands and brought salvation during famine.
Lord, may Kenya be a land where truth and justice reign, where children grow in safety, where the youth find opportunity, and where elders are honored. Let our soil be fertile, our people industrious, and our hearts turned to You.
We rebuke every spirit of division, tribalism, corruption, and violence. Let the blood of Jesus speak better things over our land than any past wounds or failures.
On this Madaraka Day, we rededicate Kenya to You. Be our foundation, our shield, and our song. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in Kenya as it is in heaven.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
