HOW TO APPLY GEL POLISH
Applying nail gel polish requires a few steps to ensure a smooth and long-lasting finish. Here's a general guide to help you apply nail gel polish at home:
Materials and Tools:
-Gel base coat
-Gel nail polish color of your choice
-Gel top coat
-UV or LED nail lamp
-Nail file and buffer
-Nail cleanser or rubbing alcohol
-Cuticle pusher
-Lint-free wipes or cotton pads
-Nail polish remover (for clean-up)
Step-by-Step Guide:
Prepare Your Nails:
Start by shaping and filing your nails to your desired length and shape.
Gently push back your cuticles using a cuticle pusher.
Clean and Dry Nails:
Clean your nails with a lint-free wipe or cotton pad soaked in nail cleanser or rubbing alcohol to remove any oils or residues.
Apply Gel Base Coat:
Apply a thin layer of gel base coat to each nail, making sure to cap the free edge of the nail (the tip). This helps the polish adhere better and prevents chipping.
Cure Under UV/LED Lamp:
Place your nails under a UV or LED nail lamp to cure the base coat. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the recommended curing time.
Apply Gel Nail Polish:
Apply a thin, even layer of your chosen gel nail polish color. Avoid getting polish on your cuticles or skin.
Cure the first layer under the UV/LED lamp according to the instructions.
Repeat for Additional Layers (Optional):
Apply additional layers of gel polish if needed, curing each layer under the lamp. Most gel polishes require 2-3 coats for full opacity.
Apply Gel Top Coat:
Once you're satisfied with the color, apply a thin layer of gel top coat. Again, cap the free edge of the nail.
Cure the top coat under the UV/LED lamp.
Final Cure and Clean-Up:
Cure your nails for the final time under the UV/LED lamp according to the instructions.
If there's any gel polish on your skin, use a small brush dipped in nail polish remover to clean it up.
Moisturize and Finish:
After curing, moisturize your hands and cuticles. This helps counteract any drying effects from the gel process.
Remember to follow the specific instructions provided by the gel polish and UV/LED lamp manufacturers, as curing times may vary. Additionally, be patient and take your time during each step for the best results.
