I’m deeply grateful to be recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Kenya by

When we began our work treating excess weight more than two decades ago, it wasn’t yet considered a medical issue β€” let alone one deserving of empathy, strategy, and science-backed care. We pushed forward anyway, pioneering weight loss tools, COMBINED with psychotherapy for eating habits, highlighting the mind-body connection before it was even recognized as critical.

Today, I’m proud to see a new generation embracing health, wellness, and self-respect. And I’m even prouder that our pioneering work has helped shape that shift β€” especially here in Kenya, and across the African continent.

To be acknowledged not only as a madical doctor, but as a woman, a Kenyan, and a leading voice in this field means the world.

This recognition belongs to every patient who took the first step, and to every colleague who stood beside me.

I was recently invited on the Nation Podcasts to talk about my story and discuss the Russian invasion of Ukraine. These have been some of the most difficult years for all Ukrainians, for me in particular as the majority of my family is still in Ukraine, suffering regular bombardments, regular funerals, regular displacements.. my heart is with them daily πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦

Thank you for inviting me to shed light on this, it was an honor and a privilege to speak on behalf of our Ukrainian people.

My favorite day since childhood turned into the most unforgettable surprise, filled with love and joy as friends and family came together from near and far to celebrate! πŸ₯°πŸ˜

It was another amazing surprise to see my patients and friends there tooβ€”it meant so much and was such a lovely gift to have everyone together. I’m still in awe that they planned this for an entire month without me having a clue! πŸ™ˆ

It's hard to believe how blessed I am to have such amazing people in my life. Thank you to everyone for being there and for making this a celebration for the books! πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸ₯³
