Job Title: Mechanical Engineer / Technician
Department: Maintenance
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer/Technician to join our Maintenance Department. The role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all plant machinery and equipment. The successful candidate will drive preventive and corrective maintenance programs, optimize production uptime, and uphold the highest standards of safety and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules for plant machinery and equipment.
• Preventive Maintenance: Ensure proactive servicing guided by performance data and statutory requirements.
• Compliance & Inspections: Schedule and oversee statutory inspections to meet regulatory standards.
• Inventory Management: Manage and optimize spare parts inventory for cost-effective operations.
• Safety & Quality: Guarantee machine safety and product quality across all production lines.
• Team Leadership: Train, motivate, and evaluate departmental staff to achieve peak performance.
• Best Practices: Identify, implement, and benchmark best practices in plant maintenance.
• Repairs & Installations: Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
• Budget Control: Monitor expenses and control departmental budgets.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate maintenance logs and provide daily activity reports.
• Workload Allocation: Assign tasks and monitor performance of maintenance personnel.
• Procedures & Overhauls: Develop maintenance procedures and schedule machine services and overhauls.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum Higher Diploma in Plant Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with PLC controls will be an added advantage.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a busy manufacturing environment.
