When the County Government fails, and the ward lacks effective representation and oversight from the area MCA, locals are left with no option but to find solutions on their own.

Through the courtesy of the BAMO Memorial Foundation-BMF under the tagline "Jitume", BAMO Volunteers and residents of Arap Chumo used available materials to carry out emergency repairs on sections of the road after county feeder roads became impassable.

This intervention highlights the gap in leadership and service delivery, and the need for leaders who not only speak for the people but also act when the need arises.

I'm happy that through yesterday's Volleyball Field Launch, our mama mboga, boda boda operators, and small-scale traders had an opportunity to sell their products and earn a living.

This is a clear indication that investing in sports and talent development not only nurtures our youth but also creates economic opportunities for the people of Menengai West.

As we continue saying "Ni Matendo, Si Maneno." We remain committed to supporting initiatives that uplift talents, empower businesses, and improve livelihoods across Menengai West Ward.

Sports is a devolved function under the County Government, and we expected more support in nurturing and developing our young talents.

However, through your continued support, come 2027 we shall be there on the floor of the house to lobby for more resources and investment in sports, talent development, and youth empowerment across our ward.

As we celebrated Madaraka Day, I was delighted to witness the success of the volleyball tournament that brought together residents from across Menengai West Ward. The event provided a platform for our youth to showcase their talents, promote teamwork, and strengthen the unity that binds our community.

The massive turnout and enthusiastic participation from players, fans, and residents demonstrated the vibrant spirit of Menengai West. It was inspiring to see people come together to celebrate not only our nation's freedom but also the power of sports in fostering social cohesion and community development.

It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that I have received the heartbreaking news of the tragic fire incident at Utumishi Girls Academy, which has claimed the lives of innocent students and left many others injured.

On behalf of my family, friends, and the people of Menengai West, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the school fraternity, and the entire nation during this painful moment. Losing young lives full of promise and potential is a tragedy beyond words.

We stand in solidarity with all those affected and pray for strength, comfort, and healing to the families mourning their loved ones. I also wish a quick and full recovery to all the students who sustained injuries.

May God grant eternal rest to the departed souls and give courage to everyone going through this difficult time.
