HALO HALO TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY
Hey you… pause for a minute.
Wherever you are reading this from, listen carefully:
If your eGFR is less than 90 and it stays that way for more than 3 months, medically that is already a Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).
Yes.
Even if you feel completely normal.
That is the dangerous part about kidney disease.
Many people think kidney failure starts when someone is on dialysis.
It doesn’t.
Kidney disease often starts quietly.
No pain.
No warning.
No dramatic symptoms.
Meanwhile the kidneys are slowly losing function.
If you wait to know, you will only know it when 90% of your kidney functions is gone…Are you happy now?
And please stop waiting until your legs swell or you start vomiting before taking it seriously.
If your kidney numbers are abnormal:
• control your blood pressure
• control diabetes aggressively
• stop abusing painkillers
• reduce excessive salt intake
• hydrate properly
• and go get evaluated
And one correction many people need to hear:
Do not just ignore it because “creatinine is only slightly high.”
Early kidney disease is exactly where doctors have the best chance to slow or stop progression.
Go see a kidney specialist (nephrologist), especially if the abnormal eGFR is persistent, worsening, or associated with protein in urine, diabetes, or hypertension.
Your kidneys can fail silently while life still feels normal.
