THE 7 TYPES OF REST

Recent findings by Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith, a physician, researcher, author, suggest that we need different types of rest to function properly and to prevent BURN OUT.

🌱Physical Rest
- a good night's sleep or a nap
- stretching, receiving a massage simply lying
- ergonomic position at work and light movement during your breaks promotes physical rest

🌱Mental Rest
Symptoms of lack of mental rest: memory loss, brain fog, confusion, a state of occasional or constant stress.
- schedule more breaks during working day
- balance activities that require little concentration and those that require a lot
- prioritize important things over distracting things

🌱Sensory Rest
- Avoid sensory overloads: repetitive sounds, bright lights, multiple conversations, ambient urban noise that can lead to irritation, anger, restlessness.

A journey inward, where we awaken our senses through the theme of Nature within us.
In this exploration, we invite the body to remember — to move as tree, as animal, as element. It is a space of freedom, where we can connect, express, and rediscover our own authenticity, our wild essence beyond social conditioning.

From this state, we move into free flow Dance. An embodied and Ecstatic dance where Nature, Body, and Spirit merge together.

Quick Tip:
The 90-Second Rescue Breathing:
Pause for 90 seconds when triggered to let stress chemicals flush out, then breathe through it without fighting the feeling.

Box Breathing:
Inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4 (repeat).

Belly Breathing:
Hand on chest, hand on belly; inhale to expand belly, exhale slowly through pursed lips.

5-4-3-2-1 Method:
Name 5 things you see, 4 you feel, 3 you hear, 2 you smell, 1 you taste to ground yourself in the present.

💧Movement & Sensation

Shaking the whole body, short walk to release tensions.

Cold Water: Splash cold water on your face and feet, or hold ice calm your system.

Singing/Humming activates the vagus nerve and deep breathing.

💧Mind & Focus

Get absorbed in a hobby (puzzles, art, gardening, cooking) to lower stress.

Journaling: Write down worries to process them and challenge negative thoughts.

Visualization: Imagine a peaceful, safe place in detail.

💧Social & Emotional
