It was a long and arduous process. But I am glad we persevered till this day.
Finally, a year after The SnooZze Clinic (Cambodia) Co., Ltd was incorporated in Cambodia, and 4 months after finding a pharmacist representative, we are about to obtain our Medical Device importer license from MOH.

✅ Pharmacist Representative found
✅ Application for Importer License submitted
✅ MOH inspection done
✅ Application/ Setup fees paid
🌈 Expecting to start product registration in a month
🌈 Now receiving supporting documents for registration from our collaborating manufacturers/ product owners
❤️ People I need to thank include my pharmacist Tiv Oussa, a young but outstanding individual, who gave me the most encouragement and support, always asking me to hang in there and not give up, despite my grouchiness towards her. Also, for coordinating with my landlady to submit my application documents when I was not physically in Cambodia.
❤️ Many thanks also to my landlady, who filled up 45 pages of forms on my behalf, taking time off work to accompany me during the meetup with the village chief and to the commune office to get my documents endorsed.
❤️ There is also my "Aunt Agony" to thank. He has had to put up with lots of rants in the past few months.
❤️ Special thanks to the MOH inspectors who came, and patiently explained the whole process, the do's and the don't's, the rationale behind certain requirements, and clarifying all my doubts. Thank you for your patience and your professionalism.

Someone asked me, why are you putting yourself through all this inconvenience when the other companies are not even registering their products?
Well, it is simple... Errant sellers of medical devices are everywhere... even in Singapore... Traceability is important. By obtaining our importer/ distributor license, and having our products registered, it would enable buyers, whether hospitals or individuals, to make an informed decision when making their purchase. One cannot imagine the number of helpless people who are supposed to be on CPAP therapy, who have stopped using their CPAP devices because of faulty adapters and not knowing where to get one at such notice. I have advised four users to date to contact the company that had sold them their CPAP devices. The replies were similar "The seller said he does not handle such things and asked me to solve it myself."
It is high time medical devices are sold with responsibility and accountability, and not sold like high-end vacuum cleaners or hairdryers. This applies to Singapore too.
