파라오 홀스는 할때마다 조금은 긴장을 하게되는 소재입니다
적어도 어제한 내 작업보단 오늘 한 작업이 아주 조금이라도 업그레이드 되어야 마음이 편한 나는 이미 완벽한 오리지널이 있는 그림을 어떻게하면 내 방식대로 더 멋지게 풀어낼수있을까 하는 생각이 깊이 파고들곤합니다
존중 존경일지도 모르겠네요
모두에게 사랑받을수는 없다는것을 알면서도 다들 그렇듯이 내가 생각하기에 제일로 멋진걸 더 많은 사람들이 멋져해주길 바라는게 당연한 인간에 심리겠지만
그 방법이 무엇일지 연구하고 풀어내는 과정은 지독히도 머리아픔과 동시에 짜릿하도록 달콤하기도 합니다
계속 해봐야지요 내가 존경하는 100년전, 50년전에 타투이스트들이 그 긴 세월을 뚫고 인정받는 작품을 만들었듯이
50년 뒤에 100년뒤에 그렇게 남는게 목표라면 목표입니다
Pharaoh’s Horses always make me a little nervous
At the very least, today’s piece has to be a little better than the one I did yesterday
When a design already has a perfect original, the real question is how to reinterpret it in my own way and make it hit harder
Maybe that’s respect
I know you can’t please everyone
But like anyone else, I still hope that what I think is great will be seen that way by more people.
Figuring that out can be a real fu***ng headache
But at the same time, it’s a sweet kind of pain
So I’ll keep doing it
Just like the tattooers from 50 or even 100 years ago who made work that still stands today
If there’s a goal, that’s it
to make something that might still be around 50, maybe 100 years from now
