The Waste handling was started @ IRRC Rathnapura in 8th of January 2014, before the Ceremonial Opening. Hon Mayor of Rathnapura & Council members , Officials of RMC, President of Sevanatha, Chief Executive Officer of MEC & Staff has participated to this occasion.

Door to Door awareness programs and Open House awareness programs were held in Gongawela, Hulangamuwa, Kotuwegadara,Kumbiyangoda, Nagolla, Diyabubula wards.
