It was a privilege to host so many of the country's neurosurgeons at our stall over the two days. The conversations around patient-specific cranial implants PEEK and titanium were genuinely valuable to us, and we're grateful to every clinician who took the time to stop by and share their perspective.

Back in August 2019, we quietly made history. 🇱🇰

This was Sri Lanka's first patient-specific PEEK cranial implant designed and manufactured entirely in Sri Lanka used to reconstruct a large skull defect following a serious head injury. The surgery was performed at Teaching Hospital Karapitiya by Dr. Nishantha Gunasekara.

We didn't say much about it at the time. But nearly seven years on, it feels right to share where the ProtoMed journey began the case that proved world-standard, custom-made implants could be built right here, for the patients who need them.
