A weekend showing off Luxembourg 🇱🇺
A few years ago in Delhi, I joined the Seven Cities programme, exploring the many layers of the city’s fascinating history. Along the way, I met some wonderful women from around the world. After leaving India, we stayed connected and started a tradition: twice a year, one of us hosts the group in the city we now call home.

So far we’ve explored Valencia, Madrid, Málaga, Bourges, Bath and Bristol and this weekend it was Luxembourg’s turn.

I got to share the history of my adopted home, from the ancient origins of the city at the Bock Casemates to the charm of the Grund, Clausen and Kirchberg, we traced Luxembourg’s journey from Count Siegfried’s fortress in 963 to its role as a founding member of the European Union. Along the way there were Indian connections, art, history, great conversations, and plenty of local food and wine .
as well as the important Friday night Indian.

Sunday took us to Schengen, birthplace of Europe’s border-free travel agreement, before hopping across into Germany and France (because we could!) and exploring the beautiful Valley of the Seven Castles.

A wonderful weekend with lovely friends, ( some were missing) lots of laughter, and a renewed appreciation for my adopted home. ❤️
Where next? Malta seems to be leading the vote...

“What opportunities are there for health coaches in Europe?”
“What can I actually do as a health coach?”
“Do I have to start my own business?”
“Can I work in industry or within a company?”

These were some of the great questions asked when we met recently for the first time.

Emma is finishing her Diploma in Health Coaching with
the same qualification I completed, and she also has a degree in Nutritional Studies.

As someone working mainly with women living with diabetes, heart disease and hormone and weight-related challenges, I can really see the value of combining nutrition knowledge with coaching skills.

What struck me most from our conversation was how quickly the field of health coaching is evolving. There are now so many possible directions from corporate wellbeing and healthcare settings to behaviour change programmes, digital health, research and specialist support.

Health coaching is no longer limited to running a business or offering 1:1 coaching. The opportunities are growing, and it was a pleasure to help Emma explore where her own strengths and interests may fit best.

Human connection is at the heart of what we do and there was lots of sharing of ideas and mutual encouragement.

Excited to see where her journey leads.

Loved the coffee in too!

Remember to accept your invite and book your cervical screening test as it could be life-saving.

The screening test can determine whether you have human papillomavirus (HPV) and changes in your cells that could go on to develop into cancer if left untreated.

If you are aged between 25 and 64 it's important to book and attend your screening test and keep an eye out for any signs or symptoms. If at any time you feel something isn't right, don’t wait, contact your GP.

Got some of the sunshine vitamin this morning on a lovely sunny run.

Vitamin D, good for bones, hearts, muscle function and the immune system is made when skin is exposed to sunlight.

We know that too much sun can be risky but we need it.

We don’t have to be in it for a long time for Vitamin D to be produced. Short exposure: 10-30 minutes can be enough to produce Vitamin D.

Top Tios:

👉Stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day 11-3 pm
👉Wear a hat
👉Stay in the shade

Vitamin D can be found in foods too such as egg yolk, oily fish and cod liver oil.

On this nurse encourages you to get some sunshine where you can, responsibly to avoid skin cancer risks and issues with deficiency.

Seen the sun today?

A lady stopped me today to comment on my front garden which looks fabulously lovely at the moment.

She said she has changed her morning walk route to always come by our garden because it’s gorgeous and makes her feel so calm and at peace.

It is well known that having access to a lovely garden can improve mental and physical health.

Feeling a little stressed, sad, tired, unhappy? Get out into the garden or a local park and look at some flowers. Hope you have some nearby.
