Hiccups are repeated sharp inhalation of breath caused by involuntary spasm of the diaphragm— the powerful muscles that separate the chest from the abdomen and which increases the volume of the chest when air is breathed in —accompanied by involuntary closing of the larynx (upper windpipe).

They are caused by irritation of the diaphragm, for example by an overfull stomach or inflammation of the membrane around the heart.

Haven said this, if you are having recur frequent or an attack last longer than a day, is better you consult a Dr for proper diagnosis, this might be a sign something is about to happen to your kidney...

I have read though, an American man named Charles Osborne.... He started hiccuping in 1922 and continued for 60 years.

Nonetheless, he led a comparatively normal life and died in 1982, aged 88.

Yes, protein is an essential substance needed in our body —for the building blocks of all tissues and cells...... But do you know consuming excessive amount of protein can damage the kidney?

So as consuming lots of acidic fruits/foods can make you prone to cancer..... Alkaline body system definitely prevent cancer.

Knowing the acidity or alkalinity of your body is important for making proper food choices.

A simple test to assess your body's metabolism can provide a clue as to whether you are consuming excessive amount of processed foods and simple carbohydrates.

How to go about the test?

Just get a nitrazine paper, available at drug/medical appliance store.....

Apply saliva or urine to the paper (or better still check both).

After checking some images on her phone, I hissed.

Though, I don't know what she would say or what her fate would be by going to the "Alfa", but the moment I heard "you must see me today and it must be today" I know nothing good would come out of it.

A very decent woman—by look , accompanied by her friend came into my office for consultation.
