I'll be posting tomorrow about recent events and the upcoming online classes, for the moment here is a quote from Michael Stone to reflect on. Reading is such an essential part of life and these current times are a great excuse to pick up a book or listen to an audiobook.

"The techniques of yoga - including body practices, working with the breath, and discovering the natural ease of the mind - reorient practitioners to the very deep continuity that runs through every aspect of life until they realise that mind, body and breath are situated in the world and not apart from worldly life in any way."

Check out my first post on my new Yoga Page, Danielle Yoga!

Grateful for those who have already shown their support for the page. Please like and share the new page, I'll be posting online classes for people to join in at home turning these times very soon.

All the best to those stuck indoors, don't forget to be mindful, breathe and take moments for yourself throughout the day.

I discovered yoga in 2006 while living in Tunisia. I was never sporty at school but loved dance and yoga ignited that same joy in me. Even if the class was physically demanding I left feeling lighter and rejuvenated.

While living in Malaysia I discovered the true mental, physical and spiritual benefits of yoga which kept me semi-sane and grounded in a turbulent expat lifestyle. My teacher Melissa Smith inspired me to teach. I knew I needed to be able to share the transformative practice of Yoga and I took my first Yoga Immersion in Yoga Therapy, Restorative Yoga and Ayurveda with Melissa in Koh Samui.

My 200hr teacher training in Vietnam with Suzanne Vian lead me to work as curriculum coordinator for the yoga school and I am forever grateful for the opportunity I was given to work with so many aspiring teachers and dedicated students in my early years of teaching. I have a passion for teaching teachers and am honoured to have been part of teaching teams in trainings in Vietnam, Scotland and Malta.

I thrive on learning and have been blessed with the opportunity to train with amazing teachers ,Melissa Smith ,Suzanne Vian,Rae Dohar,Jason Crandell, Dice Iida-Klein, Briohny Smith, Honza and Claudine Lafond,Mathieu Boldron and Leslie Kaminoff.

I enjoy creating positive energy teaching public and private classes in Hatha Flow, Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga and it is always a joy to see students embrace the practice.

It is a gift to be able to host teacher trainings and retreats with Anchelique Fjoere and Yoga Flow Academy.I also teach ,specialist workshops, Yoga Anatomy immersions and Yoga Anatomy for teacher trainings.

Like many of you, I revere Seane Corn. She’s one reason I thought maybe intense, city-living, real, all-black wearing badass women could also be yoga teachers. 🔥

Then one day I actually ran into Seane while we were both presenting at a conference. It was my first international gig, and in order to get on the scene, I felt I had to agree to the crushing schedule—they had me teaching 9 x 2-hour workshops in a DAY AND A HALF. That’s 18 hours of pretty straight teaching with a little sleep break. All for $1000. I paid to be there.

For those of you who teach—just one 2 hour workshop is incredibly draining, unless you’re who can literally teach for years at a time without blinking. 🙌

Seane pulled me aside and asked me how I was doing there at my first big gig. ((PS: She is very nice)).

I told her I was a little tired, because of how much I was teaching. I must’ve had a wild, scattered look in my eyes, because she got concerned.

She visually puffed up on my behalf—I swear her mama lioness mane got a little bigger, and she leaned in, and said,

“Sadie—from now on, you tell people what YOU’LL DO. Don’t just say yes to what THEY want you to do. You’re worth it—they will say yes, or they won’t. But you have to preserve your peace.”

((PS: She is very fierce)).

She was right.

But delegation, or the art of letting someone else do something for you, or even *instead* of you, if doing the thing will take too much from you—often feels like surrender to the warrior triple Type AAAs amongst us.

Screw that.

Let those who do what they do best save you from overdoing what anyone else can do—or even from too much of what you are perfectly capable of doing (almost everything)—so that you can save time to do what ONLY you can do—and be healed and centered while doing it—YOUR WAY.

I now practice what I’m preaching here.

I’m so much happier.

Thanks, Seane. ♥️

Does this speak to you, too?
