Exams done… and they are still smiling!

AOGM has successfully conducted the first end-of-year examinations for our year one registrars training to become specialist Obstetricians and Gynaecologists under the ECSACOG Fellowship Programme in Malawi.

Judging by these smiles with their examiners, either the exams went very well… or they are just happy the exams are over.😃

Another important step in training the next generation of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for Malawi.

Malawi Health Care Support UK (MAHECAS) has partnered the Association of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Malawi and the Mwanza District Health Office to have a six-week cervical cancer screening initiative in the district.

Speaking during a cheque handover ceremony for the initiative, project lead for the Association of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Malawi, Dr Louis Gadama, said they intend to reach out to about 20,000 women and girls with the screening campaign in hard-to-reach areas of the district.

Coordinator for MAHECAS, Lawrence Gogodus, said the organisation is supporting the intervention with about K22 million.

Director of Health and Social Services for Mwanza District, Anthony Chafunya, described the campaign as crucial in enhancing screening and treatment among women and girls.

In 2021, MAHECAS and other partners conducted a similar initiative in Chikwawa.
