In our current modern society, most people do not think about the effort that goes into planting and harvesting food. In Teopantli Kalpulli, we are concerned about how the current food system is damaging the environment and human health. We find it important to return to basic rustic living as a means to improve our health and lifestyle, appreciate an

d coexist with nature. Our principal objective is to generate an abundant supply of healthy and nutritious food for our families. To achieve this goal, we are enthusiastically setting a foundation with a community garden so that more community members become involved and learn how to become more self-sustainable. We use agriculture techniques from those that require no intervention to intensive agriculture, Permaculture and traditional Mexican agriculture. Our work is experimental at times, as we are open to new ideas and are always looking to maximize productivity and yield the best quality products. About the garden: the area cultivated extends 1000 m2. We have approximately 100 species of edible and medicinal plants.
