When people tell me they HATE running, I cringe 🤭 I don't think anyone can HATE running. We were born to run. If someone "thinks" they hate running, it's because they started wrong.
❌ They go out too fast and expect too much.
❌ They try to run the whole time.
❌ They exhaust themselves.
❌ They feel awful.
❌ They quit.
I’ve been running for over 20 years. I’ve also quit running. More than once. For days, sometimes weeks, even months. And every time I came back, I had to remind myself of the same thing:
👉🏼 Start small. ✨
When beginners ask me how to start running, they usually expect a program. But what they actually need is a HABIT.
👉🏼 Lay out your running shoes and clothes.
👉🏼 Go outside.
👉🏼 Walk.
👉🏼 Repeat.
Once that becomes normal, then you "build". Not the other way around.
If you’ve tried running before and stopped, this is your sign to try again, just differently this time.
