Happy Nurses’ Week from all of us at Sab’s Health Corner 💙🩺

Today in our School of Post Basic Nephrology Nursing, one of our amazing colleagues went around wishing everyone a Happy Nurses’ Week — a simple gesture that reminded us of the unity, strength, and compassion that nursing represents.

As nurses, we do more than give care; we give hope, comfort, and support to patients and families every single day. This week is a celebration of every nurse working tirelessly behind the scenes and at the bedside.

To all nurses, especially those in nephrology care — thank you for your dedication and service. Your impact matters more than words can express.

Happy Nurses’ Week once again! 💉❤️

Yesterday may have been my birthday, but today… my heart is still overwhelmed. ❤️

I have spent hours trying to find the right words, but honestly, how do you properly thank people who intentionally made you feel deeply loved, seen, celebrated, and appreciated?

Every call.
Every message.
Every prayer.
Every repost.
Every gift.
Every kind word.
Every thoughtful gesture.

None of it went unnoticed.

You all turned my birthday into more than just a date on the calendar — you turned it into a beautiful reminder that love still exists in pure and genuine forms. 🥹✨

To everyone who celebrated me publicly and privately, thank you for pouring so much kindness into my life. Some of your messages brought tears to my eyes, some made me laugh deeply, and some reminded me why I must never stop showing up for humanity through Sab’s Health Corner.

There is something humbling about being celebrated by people whose lives may have crossed yours, it reminds me that impact is not always loud, sometimes it lives quietly in hearts — may life celebrate you too. May the love you freely gave return to you multiplied in beautiful ways.

I do not take any of it for granted.

From the depth of my heart, thank you for celebrating not just my birthday, but my journey, my purpose, my growth, and the woman behind Sab’s Health Corner. ❤️

This new chapter already feels special because of you all.

With love and endless gratitude,
Sab’s Health Corner 🌿

Today, my heart is filled with gratitude to God Almighty for life, growth, sustenance, and grace through every season. 🙏❤️

As I celebrate another year, I cannot help but reflect on this beautiful journey as the founder of Sab’s Health Corner. God has been faithful — giving me the strength, passion, and zeal to consistently show up, educate, care for humanity, and touch lives through health awareness and service.

Interestingly, I was born during Nurses’ Week, and sometimes I truly believe this calling was divine from the very beginning. 🩺✨ A reminder that purpose is never a coincidence.

I am deeply thankful for my family, especially my husband — my backbone, my support system, and one of God’s greatest gifts to me. Thank you for standing by me emotionally, financially, spiritually, and for constantly pushing me beyond limits I never thought I could reach. Your support means everything to me.

To my followers, family, friends, colleagues, and everyone who has supported Sab’s Health Corner in one way or another — thank you for believing in me, encouraging me, sharing my work, and growing with me. Every message, every share, every prayer, and every word of encouragement has helped shape this journey.

This new age is not just a celebration of life, but a celebration of purpose, impact, growth, and God’s unending mercy.

Lord, thank You for leading me this far. The journey continues, and I pray to keep serving humanity with love, compassion, and excellence. ❤️

Happy Birthday to me! 🎉🥳

🌑 Dark-Coloured Urine: What It Could Mean for Your Kidney Health.

Urine colour is one of the simplest but most important indicators of body and kidney health. A change in urine colour—especially dark or cola-coloured urine—should never be ignored.

🧠 What is considered dark urine?

Dark urine may appear as:

📌Deep yellow
📌Brown
📌Tea or cola-coloured
📌Reddish-brown

This change may indicate dehydration, medication effects, or more serious underlying disease.

🩺 Common Causes of Dark-Coloured Urine

1. Dehydration (Most common & harmless cause)

When fluid intake is low:

📌Urine becomes concentrated
📌Colour becomes dark yellow
✔ Usually improves after adequate hydration

2. Blood in urine (Hematuria)

May indicate:

📌Kidney stones
📌Urinary tract infection (UTI)
📌Bladder or kidney disease
📌Trauma

⚠️ There is need for medical evaluation if persistent.

3. Liver disease

Conditions affecting bile metabolism:

📌Hepatitis
📌Liver cirrhosis

👉 Urine may appear dark brown (tea-coloured) due to bilirubin

4. Muscle breakdown (Rhabdomyolysis)

A serious condition in nephrology where muscle tissues break down and release myoglobin into the blood.

Associated with:

📌Severe exercise
📌Trauma/crush injury
📌Drug toxicity (e.g., statins, alcohol, co***ne)

⚠️ Urine may appear cola-coloured

👉 Can lead to Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) if not treated early

5. Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

📌Cloudy or dark urine
📌May have foul smell
📌Burning sensation during urination

6. Medications & foods

Some drugs and foods can darken urine:

📌Antimalarials
📌Laxatives
📌B-complex vitamins
📌Beetroot (reddish tint)

🚨 When should you worry?

Seek medical attention if dark urine is accompanied by:

📌Pain in the back or sides
📌Fever or burning urination
📌Swelling in the body
📌Reduced urine output
📌Persistent cola or tea-coloured urine

🧪 Why this matters in nephrology

In kidney care, urine changes may be an early warning sign of:

📌Kidney infection
📌Kidney stones
📌Glomerular diseases
📌Acute kidney injury
📌Chronic kidney disease progression

Early detection saves kidneys.

💧 Simple Prevention Tips

📌Drink adequate water daily
📌Avoid overuse of nephrotoxic drugs (e.g., NSAIDs)
📌Treat infections early
📌Go for regular medical checkups if symptoms persist

Dark urine is not a disease itself—it is a symptom your body is using to communicate with you.

Listen early. Act early. Protect your kidneys.

We showed up at GOPD to talk about hypertension—the silent killer—and how it slowly damages the kidneys. The questions, the awareness, the impact… this is why we do what we do 💙
