See the World Through Their Eyes 🐾🌍

Today, we celebrate the animals that share our homes, communities, farms, and wild spaces.

On World Animal Day, let us choose compassion, responsible care, and respect for every animal, because every animal matters and every perspective counts.

Together, let’s build a kinder world for animals and for the people who depend on them.

Lagos Island Joins the Fight Against Rabies! 🐾

The Veterinary Team of the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems, Department of Veterinary Services, took rabies prevention beyond the clinic and into the communities.

From Ikota and Langbasa to Lekki, Nicon Estate, and VGC, residents were engaged on rabies awareness, responsible pet ownership, vaccination, and the importance of prompt action after animal exposure.

The team also engaged the DPO, Langbasa, on concerns about stray cattle, with the matter referred to the Ministry’s Red Meat Task Force for necessary action to ensure proper animal control.

The Ajah Veterinary Centre also commenced its 2026 free anti-rabies vaccination campaign, successfully vaccinating dogs from Charlton View Estate Chevron and Greenland Estate Ogombo.

Rabies is preventable, and through vaccination, education, and collaboration, we continue the journey towards Zero Rabies Deaths.

Agege Rabies Vaccination Campaign Records Success 🐾

Despite the heavy traffic in and out of Agege, the rabies vaccination campaign was a great success. The team remained committed and was able to vaccinate over 33 animals, ensuring more pets received vital protection against rabies.

We appreciate everyone who supported the exercise and contributed to making this outreach impactful. Together, we continue to promote responsible pet ownership, animal health, and a rabies-free community.
