Happy Friday! 👋🏽 A little Friday reminder from your friendly neighbourhood Pharm: enjoy yourself, but please protect yourself. 💊

Let’s have a quick conversation about something we don’t always talk about openly: sexual and reproductive health.

You want to have fun? By all means, have fun. But before things get carried away, please protect yourself.

We hear these statements quite often:

“It was just once.”
“I wasn’t ovulating.”
“He pulled out.”
“I’m sure nothing happened.”

My dear, who gave you this confidence? 😂

Ovulation no dey send reminder before it happens, and “just once” can still result in an unplanned pregnancy. Please don’t rely solely on assumptions about your fertile days or withdrawal for protection.

So yes, enjoy yourself. Be spontaneous. Catch your cruise. 😌

Just no let one Friday night turn into, “Pharm, abeg, I have a problem.” 😭
No let " what if" deal with your peace of mind🤔

The good news is that you have options.

Condoms, pills, implants, IUDs and other contraceptive methods can help prevent an unplanned pregnancy. Speak with a qualified healthcare professional to find an option that is suitable for you and use it correctly.

Because sexual health is part of overall health — and prevention is always better than panic.

Protect yourself. Every. Single. Time.

There's this weighing scale near the entrance of my pharmacy.

As a pharmacist, I encourage my patients to step on it while they wait. Some do it to track their weight, others just out of curiosity.

So this morning, a young woman walked in with her little son.

The boy quickly stepped onto the scale and giggled as the numbers changed. Then he turned to his mother and asked:

“Mama, why don't you ever check your own weight?”

The room went quiet.

She smiled and replied,

“Mothers don't have time for that.”

And for some reason, that answer stayed with me.

Not because of the weight.

But because every day I meet people who are taking care of everyone else's health while quietly neglecting their own.

We remind our children to drink water while we barely finish a glass ourselves.

We make sure our parents take their medicines on time while forgetting our own.

We tell our loved ones to get enough sleep while surviving on 4 or 5 hours a night.

We rush our family members to the hospital when they feel unwell, yet keep postponing our own check-ups because we're "too busy."

We spend money on everyone else's treatment but convince ourselves that our symptoms can wait.

We notice when others lose weight, gain weight, look tired, or seem unwell, but ignore the changes happening in our own bodies.

The truth is:

Neglect doesn't always look like carelessness. Sometimes it looks like sacrifice. Sometimes it looks like responsibility.

That little boy probably forgot the question moments later.

But it's a question many of us need to answer:

When was the last time you checked on your own health?

Because the people who depend on you also need you healthy.

Your health deserves the same attention you give to everyone else.

Walk into CONRA Pharmacy, Y-Junction, Awka, and let's talk about your healthy lifestyle. Whether it's monitoring your weight, blood pressure, medications, nutrition, or making small changes for a healthier life, we're here to help.

Because taking care of yourself isn't a luxury, it's a necessity.

Tuesday did not go according to plan. 😂

I had my day mapped out.

You know that feeling when you wake up thinking,

“Today, I’m going to get so much done.”

You already know what you're doing first, second, third…

Then the day starts.

One prescription comes in.
Then a patient needs help.
The phone rings.
Another customer walks up.
Someone needs a question answered.
And there are still prescriptions waiting to be attended to.

At that point, my brain had 17 tabs open, 3 were playing music, and I had no idea where the sound was coming from. 😂

At some point, I had to remove my wig just to breathe and figure out what was actually going on. 😭😂

Yep. That was my Tuesday.

One task took longer than expected.
Something else needed my attention.
Plans shifted.

And my beautiful little plan was looking at me like:

“So… what exactly happened here?” 😂

But instead of panicking, I paused.

I looked at what needed to be done and worked through it.

One thing.
Then another.
Then another.

And it got me thinking:

Maybe being organized doesn't mean your day always goes according to plan.

Maybe it means knowing what to do when it doesn't.

That’s something I’m appreciating even more as I transition into Virtual Assistance.

I’m not learning the tools.

I’m perfecting them.

What I’m sharpening is how to use them to manage moving parts, stay ahead, communicate clearly, and make someone else's workload lighter.

My pharmacy experience taught me to pay attention, stay calm under pressure, and follow through.

Now I’m bringing those skills into a new space.

Different environment.
Different tools.
Same mindset.

And if you’re building a business and thinking,

“I need someone who can just handle things…”

You might have just found your person. 💊💻

You don’t learn prioritization from a textbook. Sometimes, you learn it with three customers waiting and five things demanding your attention.

That was my Monday. 😅

It started with a prescription that needed careful checking, while a patient was waiting to ask questions about their medication.

Before I could finish, another customer came to the counter, the phone started ringing, and there were other prescriptions waiting to be attended to.

For a second, everything felt urgent.

But I had to pause and prioritize.

The patient in front of me needed my attention first. The prescription that required checking couldn’t be rushed. The phone could wait a little. The other customers needed to know they hadn’t been forgotten.

So I worked through each thing in order, communicated with the people waiting, and made sure accuracy didn’t suffer just because the pharmacy was busy.

By the end of the day, I realized something:

That was prioritization in real life.

And honestly, it reminded me of what I’m learning as a Virtual Assistant.

A busy inbox can have several emails waiting for attention. A calendar can have multiple appointments competing for space. A client can have several tasks that all seem important.

The skill is knowing what needs attention now, what can wait, and what should not be forgotten.

My Monday reminded me that good support isn't about trying to do everything at once.

It’s about staying calm, organizing the workload, communicating clearly, and making sure the important things get done properly.

Different environment. Different tools. Same mindset.

Prioritize. Communicate. Stay organized. Follow through.

That’s one skill I’m taking from the pharmacy counter into my VA journey.

And as for Tuesday? Bring it on. 😌

Whatever comes my way, I know I can assess it, prioritize it, and handle it—one task at a time.

Professional growth is realizing that the skills you build in one profession can create opportunities in another.

A man walked into the pharmacy this evening, looked at me and said, “Please, give me my usual.”

The confidence! 😂

The way he said it, you would think he was ordering his regular pepper soup and agidi.

And I knew exactly what he meant. He had been coming to the pharmacy for a while, so his “usual” wasn’t exactly a mystery.

I brought it out, checked everything as I normally would, and handed it over.

It was a simple interaction, but it reminded me of something pharmacy has taught me:

Never become so familiar with a task that you stop being intentional about it.

Even when you’ve done something countless times, attention to detail still matters.

And that mindset goes beyond pharmacy.

It’s the same mindset I’m bringing into Virtual Assistance.

Managing a calendar requires attention to detail.
Managing an inbox requires prioritization.
Scheduling meetings requires organization.
Handling client information requires confidentiality.
Following up on tasks requires reliability.

The tools may be different, but the professional skills remain the same:

Organization. Communication. Attention to detail. Accountability. Confidentiality.

That’s why I don’t see my transition into Virtual Assistance as starting from scratch.

I’m building on the skills I already have while developing new ones.

I’m currently building my capabilities in:

• Calendar & appointment management
• Email & inbox management
• Scheduling & meeting coordination
• Administrative support
• Data entry & document organization
• Customer service & communication
• Research & information management
• Task tracking & follow-ups

My goal is to support businesses and busy professionals by taking ownership, staying organized, protecting their time, and making their workload lighter.

Because whether it’s a patient’s “usual” or a client’s busy schedule, someone is trusting you to pay attention and get the details right.

And that’s a responsibility I take seriously. 💊💻

Being a pharmacist is more than dispensing medication. 💊

People see the white coat, the prescriptions, and the medications—but there’s so much more behind it.

Pharmacy has taught me how to communicate with different kinds of people, pay attention to details, solve problems under pressure, protect confidentiality, multitask, stay organized, and most importantly, serve people with empathy.

But I’ve also realized something:

I am not limited to one professional title.

My pharmacy background has given me a strong foundation, while my growing skills in virtual assistance, administrative support, customer service, and customer representation are helping me expand that foundation into something bigger.

I’m learning how to manage information, organize tasks, support teams, communicate professionally, solve problems, and create better experiences for people.

And I’m doing it intentionally.

My goal is not simply to collect titles.

My goal is to become more skilled, more versatile, more valuable, and more impactful.

I want to build a professional identity that brings together healthcare knowledge, administrative excellence, virtual support, communication, and customer experience.

The white coat is an important part of my story.

But it is not the limit of my story.

I’m still learning.
I’m still growing.
I’m still building.

And honestly, I’m just getting started. 💊🔥

💊 A tablet can lower your blood pressure.

But it can't lower the salt on your plate.

It can control your blood sugar. But it can't choose your meals.

It can ease your symptoms. But it can't replace your lifestyle.

Medicine is powerful.

But when medicine and healthy habits walk together...

Healing doesn't just happen. It lasts.

Your pharmacist can dispense the medicine.

The lifestyle? That's the prescription only you can fill.
