DR. CAP HEALTH CORNER – TYPES OF REST EVERYONE NEEDS

In our fast-paced world, rest is often misunderstood as simply “sleeping.” While quality sleep is essential, true rest goes beyond that. Here are six types of rest you should prioritize:

1. Mental Rest: Mental rest allows you to pause, breathe, and declutter your thoughts. Simple practices like meditation, journaling, or taking a quiet walk can help refresh your mind.

2. Physical Rest: Sleep well, stretch your muscles, take naps when necessary, or do gentle exercises. Even lying down to relax can help your body regain energy.

3. Emotional Rest: Emotional rest is about being honest with yourself and others. Learn to say “NO” when you feel overwhelmed and surround yourself with people who allow you to express your feelings without judgment.

4. Social Rest: Social rest means stepping back from large gatherings and spending time either alone or with close, supportive friends who bring peace and comfort.

5. Spiritual Rest: You can experience this by connecting with your faith, practicing mindfulness, meditating, or simply spending quiet time in nature.

6. Sensory Rest: Unplug from gadgets, mute unnecessary noise, and enjoy silence. Your mind will feel lighter and more focused.

Rest is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. To achieve true wellness, make sure you are taking enough time to rest in all areas of your life, not just physically.

HAPPY WEEKEND!!!

BY VICTORY PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

DISADVANTAGES OF DRINKING LESS WATER

Water is life. It plays a vital role in nearly every function of the body yet; many people still fall into the habit of drinking far less water than their bodies require daily. The result? A cascade of health problems that could easily be prevented. Let’s remind ourselves about some disadvantages of drinking less water:

- Urine Infection – Inadequate water intake prevents proper flushing of bacteria from the urinary tract, increasing the risk of infections.

- Stress – Dehydration can raise cortisol (stress hormone) levels, leading to anxiety, irritability, and mental fatigue.

- Acidity – Water helps dilute stomach acid. Without enough of it, acid levels rise, triggering acid reflux and heartburn.

- Anaemia – Chronic dehydration may interfere with red blood cell production and nutrient transport.

- Fatigue & Weakness – Even mild dehydration can reduce energy levels, impair physical performance, and leave you feeling tired and weak.

- Obesity – Thirst is often mistaken for hunger, leading to unnecessary eating and weight gain.

- Hair Fall – Lack of hydration can lead to dry, brittle hair and increased hair loss.

- Bad Breath – Water helps in the production of saliva, which cleanses the mouth. A dry mouth becomes a breeding ground for odor-causing bacteria.

Don’t wait for warning signs to start valuing the importance of hydration. Make it a habit to drink at least 8 glasses (2-3 liters) of water daily.

Stay hydrated, stay healthy!
